At the Río olympics, the winning height for the women's high jump was 1.97m. For the men it was 2.38m. That's more than 15 inches, compared to the 10 inch disparity between women. The LOWEST score in the men's was 2.17m. So, the absolute best female competitor wouldn't have come within 8 inches of the worst male competitor. Are we really saying that men don't have a physical advantage over cis women, and by extention, women born as men don't have any advantage at all?

Because I support trans rights I feel this activism goes against it. Instead of being about justice, it makes the goal look to be about denying a bunch of facts in order to get easier wins at the expense of women (although it may just to be considered as a woman). Sport being a human right is not a superior concept to sport being about fair competition. Trans, like everyone else, deserve justice, causing some new injustice along the way is not fighting against injustice, and consequently doing so is bad for the image of trans people. NB: After all these talks I tend to think a pragmatic solution would be to have a trans category during some years in order to have more datas, way more scientific studies, to let trans athletes compete, and to avoid unnecessary backlash.
