No, which country are you talking about? USA is energy independent almost all the time now that the orange clown is gone. Even when it hasn't been 100%, lately almost none of it is Russian material. I live in Hawai'i where we used to depend on Russian oil and it's gone and nobody noticed. Except that gas stations continue to rip us all off for the sake of rampant profit, thinking we don't notice that their costs have gone down.
@jamespanizza37082 жыл бұрын
@GOP Яepublican Caliphate of Texas wait, so the American gas companies are just charging us more? What’s stopping a company with low costs (since you said their costs have gone down) from lowering their gas price, outsell all the other oil companies, and make a ludicrous amount of money? That would definitely happen if they had the supply and means to do it. When Biden first got into office he cancelled the pipeline through Canada to the USA. We lost hundreds of thousands of jobs, but also a source of oil. He also stopped leases on federal lands for drilling. They also made it clear that they were antagonistic to banks who would give loans to energy companies for oil drilling. All of this caused speculation by energy companies that oil was going to be discouraged and highly regulated, which it has. That has made the price rise. The speculation that oil would be less profitable because of the government’s open opposition to it. Then our president started begging Putin for more oil. Do you not remember that?

Give his "soft supporters" issues they can really agree with (job training, infrastructure upgrading, education, health care, increased pay for the lowest wage workers, shift tax burden from the middle class to the richest 1%, etc.). We have a waiting list of approximately 2 months (!) for urgent surgeries if you want to use the public health system. Obviously after months of getting your diagnosis. So all in all: Do Hungarians get taxed to have unviersal helthcare? Yes. Do they still pay thousands of dollars if they need a more serious surgery? Also yes. Not to mention that hospitals barely get any support, so some of them do not even have the adequate equipment to care for people properly.

We got some places with a waiting list of over a year That being said, even a underfunded public health system is better than none. You understand that having a baby at the USA costs in average $13.000? Talking vaginal birth here, a C-section costs over $22.000. Insulin costs 113.39 per vial(average). A asma inhaler retails for $250 to $350. An initial consultation with a doctor will cost around $100 - $200 Calling an ambulance ranges from $400 to $1,200 or more plus mileage. Even a crapy public health system, where you can, at least, call an ambulance, have a baby, go to a doctor once a year and buy life saving medication at a reasonable price is better than what exists at the USA. Almost 30M americans have no insurance whatsoever, meaning, if they get sick, or have an accident, they will either die or go bankrupt...

I have visited Hungary a few times. I love Budapest - was actually considering to move there to start a business with a friend. But the financing didn't work out... At that time I had 4 Hungarian friends living there - 2 moved to the USA, one to Dubai and the 4th was looking to leave but stayed. From an outsider's view, walking around the city, going to restaurants and cafes, the gym, etc, it was so charming and easy to think "Wow - I could live here!" And I had cool friends... but it was amazing how much they wanted out and their main reason was Hungarians - even most of my Hungarian friends didn't like each other... lol They seemed to feel Hungarians were not supportive of each other's success - they felt neighbors eyes on them wishing them failure so that no one seemed any better than anyone else. They were amazed at how Americans get excited by and enjoy others' success... At the same time they were very nationalistic and felt the Hungarian people across their borders should be united into a greater Hungary. The other thing I thought interesting... Budapest has the largest Jewish synagogue in Europe - I went to visit - it's beautiful... but when people found out I went to the synagogue I was really questioned "Are you Jewish?" No... "Well why would you go there??" Ummm... I visited a lot of beautiful historic churches too... never asked about that. You can feel a nationalistic undertone that would favour Orban.

Heh I will try to engage with you then. The interview answers about who is to blame for war in Ukraine were disingenuous. Especially the Hungarian government official, I'm sure would have cited NATO expansion as a reason for Putin invading. Because BOTH sides are to blame. Putin invading is as illegal, immoral, and wrong as the US invasion of Iraq. But the Executive Producers of this episode must have cut any reasonable arguments for why Russia invaded out. Also don't you wonder why the vast majority of US/Western mainstream media is only talking about how to escalate this war, such as asking bluntly and directly why US/NATO hasn't implemented a no fly zone over Ukraine? There's no talk of de-escalation, diplomacy, recognition of Russia's genuine concerns. There's no serious journalistic examination of why Russia invaded. I wonder why 🤔🙄... If the situation were reversed, say Russia and Mexico entering a military alliance together. Russia puts tanks, missiles, etc in Mexico, then both countries say "Hey nobody worry! This is a defensive military alliance only!" 😂 USA would immediately invade Mexico before any of that even happens! Why is it ok when USA does this to Russia? Our government in DC, purchased by billionaires, wants this war. Remember the arms manufacturers wept deeply when they lost their cash cow Afghanistan. They've been itching for another war since we left. Who cares if we use innocent Ukrainians in the process and they die?

@@Larez121 NATO is not a threat to Russia, NATO is a threat to Putin. Putin wants to rebuild the Soviet Union and end Russian democracy so he could take more power for himself. "Denazification" was nothing more than a flimsy pretense for invasion. Putin doesn't care about all of the 10s of 1000s of Ukranians he's killed, or the Russian conscripts who he sent to their deaths, or the millions of people who have been displaced from their homes or the collapse of the Russian economy or the complete termination of basic civil liberties in Russia. You ask why the media isn't talking about de-escalation. Putin started this war, only he can de-escalate it.

Conservatives yell the loudest about their freedoms, and work the hardest to have them taken away. 🤷🏼♀️

Keep up the excellent work. Stay safe Jordan Klepper and crew. Just excellent. It is great to see that view of creeping fascism/authoritarianism - the global view. We here in the USA have to recharge our batteries and keep on moving forward and protect our fragile democracy. Peace.

It's quite bizarre what that Hungarian said in Orlando. "You cannot make a country great without freedom." I was like 😳🤔🤔😑
