@kristinemunholland89809 ай бұрын
What I find striking about his work on this album is he essentially says it was written years ago - during the pandemic. And yet key songs - at least the first 4 and the final 2 - are about he & Amanda splintering apart. "Death Wish" is brutal; "Strawberry Woman" is heartbreaking; "Middle of the Morning" ditto; and "Miles" is self-explanatory. So I take this to mean he's been processing and coping with his marriage's demise for more than a minute. This is the first time I've seen him w/o his wedding band on....makes me kind of sad for them both and especially their daughter. Glad "Weathervanes" is still getting attention....took home the Grammy for Best Americana album but haven't heard it on our local radio which bums me out.
@wonder_of_it_all7 ай бұрын
I don't think you're wrong by any means but it seems like she was blindsided by him leaving and after the documentary was released, they were both open about their issues and repeatedly said they had worked through things and were in a better place. I wonder if he had one foot out the door this whole time and it took him a while to actually make the decision. He has said it was "the right decision" and seems like he's very happy now. Who knows if that's an act or if he is genuinely happier out of that relationship. Strawberry Woman seems especially brutal in hindsight. I thought of it as a love song when it first came out but it very much reads like a bittersweet goodbye now.

@@yerald_a Yes, Thats true and I'm sorry. But that is my experience. There was also one time in early 2000's. I was with a bunch from Tennesse, and I heard a couple guys talking about computers. That was also very strange for a northerner like me to hear lol. I don't want to think this way but their representatives like MTG and Comer and others are not helping the stereotype. Where I'm from we elect representatives who are highly educated and behave honorably. The American south keeps electing wrestling and football coaches and such. Not only that but they continue to re-elect these kinds of people. We do have some northern states that are acting equally as dumb, but these are typically what are referred to as "red states". so, they belong in the same undereducated group. I don't pick their representatives, they do.
