@Anthony I mean technically they will be the majority pretty soon. Example, I live along the south Texas border and this past year I've seen more and more white and black people coming to live here where it is heavily Latino and Mexican. Of course a few of those white and black people are married with kids, but the single ones will get with Latinos and Mexicans here and procreate and have more Latin American children. That's just what I noticed here in my city, one measly city by the border mulitply that with other areas along the border and then some of those people will move and their children procreate with another race soooo its inevitable you should be the one sucking it up and stop being so prejudice.

Japan has major museums dedicated to Western art. It is contextualised. Japanese art is put into the context of East Asia, Western art is respected but is seen as a different, but great tradition that is worthy of study. Then there's also that guy making caricatures of Xi Jinping and how China is figuratively fucking the African continent. So if you want African art you have that art festival. If you want African political critique of neo-colonialism (What the Chinese are doing now) then you have that guy. Yet they still would rather just insert theirselves into White/European art. When this music video released, I was taking 19th Century Art that semester for my degree, and my professor made us watch this in class. The whole class was cheering and "wow Beyonce is so cool and bringing boring old art to a new audience and challenging the message of the paintings and blah blah blah." I think I was the only person in the class who was trembling because of how angry it made me. I'm not saying people won't know who Beyonce is in a couple hundred years, who knows? But to go so far as to go into an art museum, a museum full of work by all cultures mind, but especially of a certain group of people (that being white Europeans) and trying to assert some sort of dominance or message over it? Many of those paintings were made by hard working artists who were more like craftsman than celebrities. Many artists chose to paint things of real life, farmers and peasants and the poor, to bring some of their struggles to the masses. Some of them were even social critiques. Why would Beyonce parade herself over that? These artists gave their lives, their _souls_ to create their works of art. And I'm sure many of them weren't creating works to be "racist" or "dominant" or whatever. They were just painting European life, European stories. I don't see why a couple of pop musicians would feel the need to upstage old masterworks- unless they knew deep down they weren't nearly as good or memorable as those pieces.

You obviously don’t know what overrated means because in my opinion she’s very underrated, Beyoncé can do Runs, riffs, vibrato, and crescendos, and that’s not mentioning her operatic, her resonant head voice is INCREDIBLE!. She is literally the only singer alive who can do a messa di voice, the only artist that was able to do it was the only singer that could do it was Whitney Houston, the greatest vocalist of all time. Her diminuendos are breath taking and full of resonance, and she can jump into registers like an acrobat, and I didn’t even mention she can belt at a freaking D6 while walking and moving around, don’t know how she’s human!, anyway, she’s the best singer alive and that’s not even an opinion, musical experts say it’s a fact.

This was probably ordered by our president himself because it is completely illegal in French law. We have something regarding works of art called Moral Rights which say you have to respect the will and purpose of the artist, even after his death, and forever. For instance even if you pay the price you can't make a porn behind Mona Lisa. But since French "justice" is well-known for being ruled by leftist women and "antiracists", prosecuting the Louvre would be a waste of time and money. Actually you would be the one sentenced to jail for "racism" and "hainous mind"...

Beyonce's music, with respect to it's place in the music world, is the equivalent of the comic book in the world of literature.
@Ignasimp6 жыл бұрын
SchroedingersCat2.0 what does that even mean? There is amazing pop music and shitty classical music (the one that preserve is the good one, obiously) in the same way that there are amazing commicbooks and shitty novels and poems (the ones that get preserve are the good ones).
@schroedingerscat2.0546 жыл бұрын
Ignasi Thanks for asking. Let me clarify. I am saying that whilst it still has value as music or art it is unsophisticated, formulaic and shallow and designed for mass comsumption rather than being a standalone artistic work that attempts to engage their audience at an individual level . It has value but is not serious.Don't get me wrong, i like comics and am a huge fan of anime. You just can't compare the two because they have totally different objectives. Beyonce has a very good voice and sings well but is in reality nowhere near as good as the world class opera divas.The lyrics are utterly lacking in creativity or real sincerity and the music is so formulaic and simplistic. I'm also not just saying this about Beyonce. Pretty much all the pop culture music is like this.
@mizzurid6 жыл бұрын
And your opinion is the equivalent of " verbal diarrhea".
@Ignasimp6 жыл бұрын
SchroedingersCat2.0 There is no point in comparing opera singers whith contemporary singers like Beyonce. An opera signer will be complitely usesless when trying to sing songs that require being able to phrase F5s in mixed voice since they can't even sing above B4 without singing in pure headvoice. there is also no point in puting Beyonce in the same pack with most of todays pop singers. There are very few singers in contemporary music with techniques as proficient as opera singers, but that doesn't mean opera singers are the only ones with the best technique. I've heard operatic tenors pushing and strainging more than some contemporary singers. It's very difficult to stand out being an opera singer, that's why the most famous ones are from the best, but most of the famous pop singers are very bad singers because there are other things that are as important to be successful in the pop world, like beauty, personality, performing skills, being likeable...
@schroedingerscat2.0546 жыл бұрын
Ignasi I agree that comparing the two is comparing oranges and apples. I was pointing out that opera singers are better technically and have just as good if not better voices. I agree her voice suits her music and have no doubt she could sing gospel beautifully. I also agree she has a great voice. But I am not talking about her voice, I am talking about her music. I only mentioned voice once you did and even then it was to agree she sings very well although I did qualify this by saying there are others I think are better. Her music is literally a product. It is a product of corporate music and is not based on true artistry or artistic inspiration. Again I am not saying it is worthless, far from it. It's good for what it is. It has value as light entertainment or dance music but doesn't make you think or even try to convey a msg or story. It's just not in the same league as say Pink Floyd's " Comfortably Numb" or Bob Marley's " Buffalo Soldiers". Their music came from the heart, hers is the result of corporate research and committees.

Wonder how black Africans would react if some white guys walked into their most famous art museum and said "Man there really isn't enough representation of white art here." The Louvre is in Paris and highlights mostly European art because IT IS IN EUROPE. The point of an art museum isn't to be an exact equal proportions collection of all the world's art, it's supposed to highlight mainly the area it's in. I go to a Japanese art museum to see Japanese art. Just because the Louvre happens to be extremely large and famous doesn't mean it can't have a majority localized art.
@bloodbuddy76 жыл бұрын
It isn't a specific attack on the Louvre, you are taking it way too literally! It is about the aesthetic ideals and culture that was upheld in Europe and America for a few hundred years. This aesthetic ideal was largely inaccessible to people of other ethnic backgrounds. The concept of what was 'civilized' (usually a glorified idea of Greco-roman values) was at that time contrasted to that which was 'barbaric' (various indigenous cultures) and 'animalistic'. In western art during this time there was this obsession with proportion, static perfection, and elevation from the mundane/ corporeal. The more animated or raw forms of art were flat out censored for ages...The funny thing is that these ideas are still so deeply embedded in minds like Shapiro's that he totally doesn't understand this content! Art is not just some static thing that lives in a museum, and now, maybe more than ever, people are becoming more aware of the the limitations of that idea of art. He is right in one way, that impactful art transcends personal narrative and elevates us to the universal. However art from cultures deemed as 'barbaric' also has this potential but it has been denied in the narrative of Europe and America for a long time. The vital line of the song is 'Have you ever seen a crowd going apeshit?' I have been to the Louvre a number of times- and its a cool place, but there are large crowds jammed into the halls craning to get a look at the art, the entire interaction isn't really set up for a personally meaningful or transcendent experience. Contrast that with the feeling of being in a crowd, moving, chanting words that you all relate to... going apeshit.... Neither one is more correct but to demean one and put the other one on a pedestal is certainly limiting. Also, your contrast to the Japanese museum example is pretty irrelevant, last time I checked there wasn't a large colonial enterprise that forcefully led to the distribution of large numbers of white people in Japan who were then denied the right to express their artistic ideas for centuries .
@bibaolaitan51892 жыл бұрын
@@bloodbuddy7 the aesthetic, ideals and culture upheld... Yeahhhh!!... cos its Europe, a white dominated continent. The same way the movies hollywood releaes is mostly white, cos its a white dominated country.. That doesnt mean there re no black art there, it just wont be as noticed or the ideal because an aesthetic was already created and most of the art in the museum is European art. When most of something is somewhere it dominates the aesthetic of that place. Beauty standards of diff places can make you understand this better.

Beyonce got madly hurt, not only by her husband cheating and having unacknowledged kids with other women, but also because it triggered her biggest childhood trauma, her father left them for other women, had other kids with them, and who was by his own words of preference- "more white". Beyonce´s father is and was racist to the point he said he married Beyonce's mom because she didn´t look too much black, and claimed Beyonce's success to her lighter skin. So all this "black parade" to me looks like a projection of her personal experience, attachment, and trauma issues onto whole society. Kind of like, I´ll forgive my husband and father, but I´ll project my actual anger and hurt onto the whole society. She is incredibly talented and has a narcissistic persona (not her authentic self) image that can pull off that shit. She acts like a hurt black queen, and by black, I don´t mean her skin color, but her hurt ego throwing a shadow over her beautiful soul.

Get the message, Beyonce?? If all of Europe and North America wanted to abandon their non-African culture in exchange for African culture, we would all move to the Africa Continent. Society has started celebrating mediocrity. That's why contemporary art, music, and literature are sad echoes of the proud and visionful masterpieces created in days past. Originality, discipline, and spirit have been drained from all things that must be beautiful. Where there once hung Mona Lisa, there hangs a blank frame. Where David once proudly stood, a pile of accumulated filth. And where masterful playwrights once fabricated masterpieces of emotion and thought, there lay empty wastes that convey no emotion. The most vile of "interpretations" creation lies in music. If one must interpret the quality of a piece, then that piece is not worthy of the smallest whim. Where once the trumpets proudly rang in halls of stone. Where woodwinds, brass, strings and percussion became a beautiful and expressive emotion, there now sounds the small autotuned voice of a failure. Where once mighty operas were performed, where mighty Tenors, Basses, Sopranos, and Altos once sang. This waste is where Beyonce , Ariana Grande, and many others will remain for eternity.

I feel like when people say diverse they mean African. The reason why the louvre is based on western art (even though there’s many exhibits on diverse art during that time such as Assyrian, Egyptian, Greek, etc.) is because it used to be a house for the royals in France (before they moved to Versailles). A lot of the exhibits there are just furniture from the the estate at that time and some paintings. There is a lot of history in that museum and to completely neglect it is extremely stupid. You know if you looked at every piece of art there for 30 seconds each it would take you more than 2 years. So, take it all in and actually GO THERE before you guys make your opinions.

He goes on a straw-man tangent about how the rolling stone is saying that the European art in the louvre is not good which was never stated or implied. Beyonce and Jay Z never once disrespect western art at all in the music video. The simple fact that Beyonce and Jay Z are there making a statement is enough to garner a 5 minuet rant. She never berated anyone or anything in the video, the rollingstone interview focused on saying good things yet here Ben Shapiro is, berating Beyonce and Jay Z’s work and complaining.
