We are literally planning a vacation there right now! Thinking of starting in Charlotte and ending over by Branson. See pigeon, Gatlin, Dollywood, Knoxville, Memphis, mammoth caves, holiday world, St. Louis then head over to Branson and end at silver dollar city. Trying to figure out if we can do this in 9 days.

You mentioned Boyne from Michigan. They just opened what I thought is the longest pedestrian bridge in North America a month ago. It’s the SkyBridge Michigan at Boyne Mountain. I had no idea they owned this chair lift. And I too remember $7 chair lift rides.

When I was in Gatlinburg for a wedding in June or July? Of 2016. I stayed at the Westgate Resort. In December of that year that devastating fire destroyed the cabin we stayed in along with the main entrance/check-in building with the restaurant

I definitely agree with others that Gatlinburg has changed / gotten too expensive. I’ve lived within an hour of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg my entire life. Went to Gatlinburg once this year. The moonshine and CBD places have taken over. Not that I have anything against either of those markets, but they’ve taken over the entire town. It’s no longer fun or entertaining to visit.

My fiancé and I love the Gatlinburg videos! We actually got engaged at the top of the tower at Anakeesta 🥰 but on a much sunnier day! Also on the whole “chondola” front…they are actually still gondolas. The whole system is called a chondola because chair lift + gondola. Just so ya know! Haha
