I am drawing along, loosely following your composition and tonality though using different colors and materials. It's fun. I'm using neocolor 2 and neocolor 1, using the latter for lines that stay put, then letting the water soluble neocolor 2s smudge over the lines in transparent washes. It's fun. I think I'll paint along using acrylic upon rewatching. Greetings from the USA.

Subtly beautiful with lost and found edges which give it a dream-like feel. I mainly work in watercolour but also some mixed media, gouache, and crayons, abstract landscapes are just so enigmatic, beautiful work.

Thanks for this very inspiring video. I have plans to go to Shetland on a trip from my Scottish highland home and hope to incorporate these techniques from observations of that landscape. I like the idea of feeling the landscape rather than representing it. So i will practice in my shed until I go on my trip. ❤

The layering process is most interesting and is surely an excellent way to seek out one's inner creativity that 'reality', or one's perception of reality, often obscures. Knowing when to stop must be the most difficult part! Excellent.

I love your channel as well, and Im indebted to you for helping me move forward with my own art. The music and your calm soothing voice in this video are really relaxing, sometimes I watch your videos before a painting session just to help me relax and be looser, so thank you Marie Louise for your you tube channel.

Hi Ayesha and thank you for your lovely comment and feedback! Yes you're excatly right that I constantly adjust back and forth as I develop the painting. I actually use this technique on canvas as well but the process is much longer and a painting takes days and sometimes weeks from start to finish. So that is way I haven't made a video of that here on youtube. But perhaps I should consider making a video where I work with this technique on a small canvas?! As always please let me know of any ideas or questions for any future videos :) Thank you for watching - I appreciate it a lot. Blessings from Marie Louise P.S. In the next video I'll be working on another landscape with the same technique so keep tuned for that one :-)
