One could make the argument that the ending of Epic didn't make much sense either, but that's what makes this band unique!

Always thought the outro fit the song so well ! That's the eerie contrast that really brings this ending to a higher level, in my opinion.

Being as I mentioned, a huge fan of this 1992 album, I’ve always known this is the darkest and heaviest track on it. Lyrically, I always wondered if the lines were written from the perspective of a serial killer or something. Being Faith No More, you know, you can’t discount it. Sorry you didn’t care for that organ/choir outro, but I’ll always remember something that was said about it. I was at my buddy’s house, the same one who introduced me to the album. And as that outro was playing on his stereo, his father walked in and said, “Hey, what is this? It sounds like a funeral in here.”

The song is about masturbation, that´s all. Mike Patton said this in some interviews at the time. "I hide my dirty minutes under my dirty mattress and now it's making me itch"..... "my time is spilt milk"... "I´m willing to make love to concrete"... "I´m spendig my days scrubbing",,, And the shame of being discovered by someone: "I´m trying so hard to act like nothing happened"... Masturbation compulsion, that´s it.

Thanks for reacting to Jizzlobber (I requested so long ago I'd forgotten). The outro I think is definitely tied to the lyrics. The early lyrics refer to incarceration, the lines before the organ are "I'm sorry, sorry". The organ/choir is the sound of redemption. The guitarist wrote this song. Love this song, my favourite off an album named most influential.

According to vocalist Mike Patton, the song is about his fear of going to jail. "I know it's gonna happen someday," he told Hot Metal. "I've been there once, but I have a feeling I'm gonna go some day for a very long time." Bassist Billy Gould has a different interpretation explaining the title is a combination of the word "jizz" meaning semen and the verb "to lob." "It's written about some porno star, but I don't remember his name," he said. "I'm not the porno expert in the group!"

More than likely Peter North. Yeah...sayin the title to this song just makes you cringe...as Im sure intended by FNM but Peter North's "claim to fame" is doing just that...epically. Haha..no pun intended.

So, lyrically the storyline is about a character who is convicted of a sex crime of some sort... he describes a cycle of abuse in his childhood that may have shaped his unfortunate arc to this point. As he's sentenced by the judge, the haunting organs begin as he accepts his fate as he exits the courtroom.... But seriously, "Malpractice" is THE song off 'Angel Dust' that I know you will enjoy (odd time signatures, odd feels, odd structure, odd lyics/vocals... beautifully odd! 🤘🤯🤘

Why they had an organ outro to a metal song is probably the same reason why they had crickets in the intro. Because it's Faith No More man, that's what they do. They always mix things up. It's what separates them from the rest.

I honestly think FNM just don't like fading out at the end of their songs. I personally love the ending. You talked about the song sounding like impending doom before, to me it feels like the bittersweet final sounds you hear right before you die. Reminds me of the ending to that Caretaker "Everywhere at the End of Time" album. Ending something so chaotic and heavy on one final beautiful yet sad note. Faith No More aimed to go beyond the norm with this album (Angel Dust) and that included adding things to their songs like that organ outro, or even the swampland intro which in my opinion fits way less into the song than the organ does.

"Why"? Well, because they're Faith No More, and they're never, ever, where you'd expect them to be. Jizzlobber is by far my favourite song or theirs and your reaction was great to watch. If you're not familiar with fnm's music, you should definitely check them out, you'll be surprised by the extent of their musical knowledge, capabilities and talent.

I have played metal for decade but also love Prog . Even if it was an outro to an intro that makes records into actual albums. Back when people wouldn’t just listen to tracks but dedicated over an hour to fully digest it. As it’s not it’s still great and reminded me of Emerson Lake and Palmer or Yes. The song has a life of its on and I am a firm believer that not everything needs to resolve the way we expect it. To be honest that shows huge respect to me for creativity and artist expression. Sometimes when I do not get it or get uncomfortable I appreciate it even more.

I think the organ outro has something to do with the context of the name of the song. if you think about it, the resounding "blissful" sound of the organ could signify, or try to encapsulate the feeling of the "release" if you will. sorry for any unintended mental images.

The angel dust album is great in my opinion... it was Mike pattons 2nd album with the band, but Mike had zero input on any of the music on The Real Thing album... the real thing was written prior to them bringing him in from Mr. Bungle...angel dust however has Mike pattons fingerprints all over it.. that being the case it was a departure from the former album. Which is what through "fans" off... and Mike has even said it that "they made it more difficult for themselves"

Look at the front and back of the Album (art) and the album's name (Angel Dust). It's all about contradictions/ ying and yang, beauty vs disgust. Wicked outro. You are crazy! Wikipedia: Bottum stated that he chose the name because it "summed up what [they] did perfectly" in that "it's a really beautiful name for a really hideous drug and that should make people think."[4] Similarly, the artwork contrasted one beautiful image with a gruesome one by depicting a soft blue airbrushed great egret on the front cover (photographed by Werner Krutein) while on the back is an image of a cow hanging on a meat hook (created by Mark Burnstein).[15] Both bassist Billy Gould and Mike Bordin said that the image on the rear of the album is not based on support for vegetarianism but rather a preview of the music, suggesting its combination of being "really aggressive and disturbing and then really soothing", the "beautiful with the sick".

The why is because of where it appears on the album. It's the last proper FNM song on the album and the organ/choir bit helps bring it to an epic conclusion, before we then enter the chilled out cover-version end of the album. On the first edition of the album, this was just Midnight Cowboy. On the next edition it was Midnight Cowboy and Easy. Just listening to the track in isolation, that end won't make as much sense
@sussychachi

Jizzlobber is the last track of the album. So it makes sense for them to end it like this. The next song is basically a ending credit type song. Very basic theme. I think since jizzlobber is the final song it can be forgiven for this outcome. In my opinion. And I love this ending

hahaha !! now you're heading to the "weirdness" of this LP , all you have to do now is to react to "malpractice" and "smaller & smaller" - as for the outro , maybe it's because , and you've said it before , FNM is mostly a bass & keyboard drive band .....just guessing.

Couldn't disagree with you more regarding the outro. At first, I didnt know what to make of it. Look for Faith No More's performance of the song at Phoenix Festival 1993. The outro in combination with the audience and overall atmosphere changed my perspective of it.

I would like this song a whole lot more if they removed Patton's heavily distorted voice & psycho shower scene keyboards during the verses. Once you get past that, the song's pretty good, even with the Church Lady ending.
