Project Aegis is a charity by prominent heavy metal musicians. 100% of the proceeds from music sales go to a different charity for each song. The band/project is headed by Theocracy frontman Matt Smith. They have released 3 songs: 1. Angel In The Ashes 2. Collide And Spark 3. ...And The Rest Is Mystery All 3 songs feature some amazing vocallists from all over the world... Be sure to check out the other 2 songs!!!

I think part of the reason you didn't like this more is you're looking at it like it was a song by a band so you're wondering why so many people were there when clearly two vocalists could have done it all, but instead it is a charity project where all these people are lending their talents to support a good cause. You need to think of it more like USA for Africa's "We Are The World". Each person's participation attracts their set of fans and will generate more support for the work of the charity.

In the layered voices section, it was layered 4 times, b/c there were eventually 4 separate vocalists. Like separating the 4 different harmonies from a single point. It works...
