Lab can beat the puppet lock. one of the funniest things I've done against Branded playing Lab was use Terrors of the AfterRoot to summon the puppet to their field making it so they couldn't otk me while getting rid of their sanctifier and if I couldn't push for game Lovely cold just re-set the Terrors trap to puppet Lock them again since the non targetting banish is optional. nightfall villain arc seems to be happening slowly and surely.

Seeing these branded or any of those crazy pile decks. Makes me wonder if they should side deck higher impact hand traps like nibiru when going second. A lot of disrespect to hand traps being thrown around. I know nightfall plays some hand traps in the side but you have to draw them.

It is by far the lamest and least optimal way to play Branded. I wouldn’t be surprised the Gimmick Puppet lock is what gives the Branded Deck such a bad reputation among the player-base when that is all people ever see when they play against the Deck.

@@lulunisha i respectfully disagree with this "don't hate the player, hate the game" because the player CHOOSES to run puppet and none forces them to. I remember a lot of Branded stans saying puppet was gimmicky (pun intended) and the regular play was already good enough, but even if it's verified puppet is the most optimal way (I also believe pak) then it's still their choice to deckbuild circumventing this issue or change decks and openly criticize this issue so that we get a healthier game down the line.

Huh. Wondering if he's not playing Quaeritis anymore, he could've used it on that last turn when Flamberge summoned the two monsters to get the free body and just block any damage. I mean I guess it doesn't stop from zealantis. Idk. And I guess you could do raging Phoenix to beat over Titaniklad. I would've maybe just waited longer to see how that played out.

@@brandogg974 He should have just enough room. There's usually like 3 flex spots in branded. It's pretty standard doing 2 of Jade, Red Albion, Granguig, 1 of Lubellion, Sanctifire, Titan, G Chimera, Stapellia, Rindbrumm. The flex spots would be things like Lulu, Borreload, Quaeritis, Lenatus, masquerade. A lot of times the three slots take up super poly targets if it's being played. I feel like you have to play Lenatus for tenpai and Quaeritis just dominates VV (Either they lose all their attack and get beat over or negate Quaert and it floats into removal). Quaeritis also contests Apo since you can just chain to her and she'll have no attack to negate. Kind of one of those cards I feel you just have to play especially now

I played against Nightfall irl and he was excellent at tracking my cards/effects/playing around stuff and utilizing Branded as optimally as possible. So I consider him an exceptional player. However, coaching requires you to be able to pass on your knowledge and not just be a good player, so I can't comment on that.
