I am an African, a Ghanaian, but anytime I watch things like this, it makes me shed tears. I hear a lots of people saying Africans hate Black American or Afro-carribeans. It's not true. Sometimes you're told, we Africans, sold you into slavery. We're innocent just like you. This new generations knew nothing about that. I believe our ancestors were fooled and lured, but we can't continue blaming them forever. Let's all put the hates and blame games aside, if there is. Let's reconcile and make each other better once again. Hope to meet you guys from the Diaspora❤

My heart goes out to all the African Americans that have had to endure so much for generations, I am fortunate to have been born in Kenya cwhere Slave trade was not as profound as in West Africa but I did loose my great father to the white man as he was fighting for our Countries Independence, WE AS AFRICANS BACK HOME IN THE CONTINENT GOT Y'ALL y'all are our brothers and that how we see it ❤

This was very emotional. As you said , the story should be heard from both sides. Writing as an African (Kenyan), I feel like despite of colonization ending many years ago, we are still colonized in our own minds. For example, people will value things coming from Europe, US etc than self made African products. So you‘ll see someone bragging of having all their stuff imported from Europe rather than promoting local brands. Its just insane. I hope as Africans in the continent, we’ll manage to decolonize ourselves then we’ll be in a better position to understand our brothers and sisters who left us hundreds of years ago.

As an African child growing up watching black American films I have always wondered why our brothers and sisters in the diaspora would come back home to Africa, I had longed for our African American family coming home to Africa and becoming one with the continent without any prejudice from anyone. An adult now and my biggest aspirations are seeing our people unified and for us to do away with the infighting and name calling, only we as Africans/ African Americans and Caribbeans can build mama Africa. 🇳🇬🇺🇸🇯🇲🇺🇸🇳🇬🇺🇸🇯🇲🇳🇬

As a Cameroonian, I feel sad that Cameroon's exit route for enslaved Africans to the Americas was via a village called Bimbia (you can Google it) but today the fort at Bimbia is in ruins even though its land size is bigger than Ghana's Elmina Castle which has been maintained to this day. I'll be very glad to see our brothers and sisters return to the land of their ancestors and like Mrs Demouchet said, never having to prove themselves to anyone again. Glad to see our people finally embracing their identity

As much as the Africans in the diaspora need healing, those on the African continent also need healing....too. We both need to identify our shortfalls and work collectively in uplifting ourselves. Collaborate through knowledge, power, ideas, etc...of each other to rebuild the continent. One thing I love about Ghana 🇬🇭 , is how most leaders of that country try harder to keep the spirit of unity burning 🔥 We are sick beyond measure in all aspects of life, and it's only through genuine collaboration that we can educate ourselves(generations unborn), write our story, and help change the narrative.
