As a Jamaican raised in Georgetown Washington DC, I have been in Ghana for so many times because of their dishes, the similarities in Jamaica the same, I got married to a Ghanain, we can't wait to be there second week of December

Mackerel, tilapia, snapper, catfish We use fresh tilapia for soups, we also use smoked tilapia for soups. We can also fry or grill it to eat with banku and pepper. My favourite is salted dried tilapia we call koobi which can be used in practically everything; soups, stew, grinded pepper etc

What of the Ewe's that have been sailing for centuries?!... even there in Elmina most of the fishermen are Ewe's if you don't know go and do your research come back and thank me😂😂😂

​@cobbyluna2668 The Ewes are not in CapeCoast /Elmina area. They are in Shama area called Anlo Beach doing their fishing. But the fantes are the main fishing tribe from Ghana all the way along the west African coast to Liberia n beyond. We are in Ghana, ivory coast, Liberia, Gambia, guinea doing our fishing.

Elimina is one of them coastal areas that started the the transatlantic slave trade in gold coast at that time . I think that's the reasons why a local where hostel😏

Most bought is the light fish, hearings. The other regular fishes they buy are the red fish snake fish, catfish, hearings, and sometimes octopus.

We like all fishes so far us we can afford them...... We just choose based on who we are serving to, less bony fish for children and others who don't eat some fishes due to religious beliefs
