Hello family. You wouldn't be considered coloured in South Africa. The only time a melanated person can be identified as coloured is when they speak Afrikaans( Dutch version)as a home language. Otherwise most coloured people are of mixed race( mulattos)

I'd have to agree with this comment because recently we had arguments on the internet about black people having a problem with being called a coloured since because it's derogatory in the U.S. I am a South African coloured man from cape town and people in the U.S didn't even know that people like us existed. I only understood late that it's wrong to call black people coloured because there's history behind it. So for you to say that you wanna be considered "coloured" makes it condratictory on your end. When you come to visit South Africa. You will still be called black. You won't be denied your own identity and you will still be welcomed with open arms.

Correction: English and Afrikaans are not the most spoken languages in South Africa but Zulu and Xhosa are. African Tribes tend to speak in their mother tongue within the household. However, English is used as a medium of exchange, for educational purposes, in the corporate world, and of course the majority of people can speak English but mostly when it's necessary. Afrikaans is not that popular anymore it's often associated with the Boers (colonizers). It's also coloured’s first language, so there's HOPE! I'm originally from Limpopo province in the North but currently living in Western Cape (Cape Town) for Work. I grew up eating Mopani Worms, so hit me up when you arrive in South Africa 🇿🇦 I'll get you some 😅✌️🏿

But Rudzani English and Afrikaans are spoken by more people in South Africa than the other languages 🤷🏽‍♂️. It is also true Zulu has more first language speakers followed by Xhosa than the other language groups. The reason English and Afrikaans has more speakers than the other languages is besides our mother tongues/ first languages, all of us use those languages as second language speakers especially English in the workplace.
@rudzanimunyai2090
@rudzanimunyai2090 Жыл бұрын
@@mhlave2440 You miss the point, I'll repeat it for you, those who can only speak these languages do so only when it's absolutely necessary. This is not about the ABILITY/ being able to speak but the most used in our daily lives. For example people in Provinces. The majority of the South African population does not live in big cities, they can go weeks or months without having to speak English or Afrikaans. These are foreign languages and when South Africans like you validate such information to people who do not understand our country it paints a bad picture.

There are more Batswana in South Africa than in Botswana. I like it when he mentioned that "they know how to handle money well". Bafokeng who are Batswana are very much progressive in business. They are led by King Leruo Molotlegi and they are one of the richest tribes in South Africa. Their land is the biggest producer of platinum in the world. They have stake in the mines and they also have many other business ventures that they invested in. Their businesses largely benefits their people. They've build a stadium (used in world cup 2010), hotels, schools, libraries etc. They give bursaries to young people in their communities. They actually don't need government to provide services to their people. They are not perfect but as compared to other Kingdoms in the country they are miles ahead when it comes to looking after their people.

Just like in the states, in Africa we also have black people with different skin tones. For example you can have people who are mixed (black /white) but are not considered as coloured. The curries range from Mutton (mature lamb), Chicken, Beef, and Butter Beans. The curries are from the rich history/influence of the Indian population we have in Durban. The bunny chow is quite popular in most of SA although in Jozzi they have created their own version known as the Kota or 👉(1/4) 👉quarter Its basically a 1/4 loaf of white bread filled with all sorts except curry e.g. Chips, fried egg, burger paties, Russian sausage, grilled chicken breast, Vienna sausage, fried/grilled palony etc slathered in sauces, just Google seach Kota 😂

The Beitbridge Border Post is a critical transit point for people and goods traveling by road from East and West Africa to South Africa. Many travelers and truckers pass through Beitbridge, which is strategically located at the intersection of Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Botswana. Beitbridge is indeed a key gateway for regional trade and travel, connecting East and West Africa to Southern Africa.

The wine from the western Cape is world renowned and definitely worth a visit. There are loads of options for food pairing and dinners on wine estates. The wine is also cheap.

When Visting the Western Cape, you will start by exploring Cape Town Drive down to the Cape Winelands, which consists of Stellenbosch, Franshoek, Paarl, Wellington, Worcester, Robertson, Bonnievale, Ashton and Montagu! Hermanus...beautiful Swellendam...country side, well most of the above mentioned small towns are Then, Drive to the garden route, which consists of Mossel Bay, George, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Tsitsikama, Oudtshoorn Most beautiful cities in WP/South Cape! Adventure/Nature and tranquility (tourist paradise) Ok Tsitsikama is at the border of WC and EC...so someone from Eeastern Cape should plug you from here... Otherwise the Joburg people will mislead you and tell you that Western Cape is only Cape Town...

The bunny chow isnt easy. it may look easy but but either passes or fails based on the filling. Traditionally made of mutton curry or chicken curry. honestly, its best you buy it in Durban. getting it anywhere else will probably lead to disappointment.

Durban is nice warm seas and spicy AF bunny chow, Capetown is beautiful with the lush green and where the sea is cold, and having a wonderful massive lamb braai (BBQ) in the Kalahari (somewhere between Kuruman and Kimberley) at NIGHT you and the kids will see the most beautiful view of the milky way 🌌🌌.

Very good summary video. As a South African, I am impressed with deatail and accuracy. And no, you'd be called Black American in SA (not coulored). Coloured in SA has becone more a culture as opposed to being a purely an ethnic heritage reference. For example, Trevor Noah was not raised coloured.
