In the EU, there is the Schengen Area which as he said, is a free-travel zone. You don’t need a passport to enter a Schengen country, all you need is a valid id card and you’re good to go, there is also no border checkpoints-think of it as a border between american states- only a sign to tell you what country you have entered. The EU is the best thing ever created and I love being a part of it!

EU 👍 especially the countries that also have the euro, no more exchanging or converting money. You know at first glance what costs (including taxes) and no fees for the exchange. I love it. You can live and work wherever you want. Work in one country, live in another and shop in the third if you live near the border. I´m European - sure there are problems too, but sh.t happens

The Shengen is was not EU wide or limited to the EU its an agreement between sovereign states, the EU is not needed. The Economic zones are older that the EU and non EU members are part of it. Its an agreement between sovereing states the Eu is not needed. The same is turue for basicly every agreement the EU is nothing more than an Orginization that exist to force complaiants against sovereing nations against their will. The EU is an act of evil and should be abolished mutual benefitial agreements secure the peace. Forcing compliance does not.

What I didn't hear mentioned is that for instance in The Netherlands, busses and trams have separate lanes where needed. In the US, if you take the bus, you're in the same traffic as the cars, so what's the use? You won't be quicker than taking the car. In the busy areas in The Netherlands, PT is not held up by cars, so you're quicker than a car. That's the incentive.

Nortern Europe is very family friendly, including the Netherlands and Germany. It's many years since I have been in the southern part of Europe. But I guess it's the same. I have noticed, that Berlin and Copenhagen are very similar at one point, there are many parks, where kids can "burn off" some energy. EDIT: Take a look at the channel "My Merry Messy Life ". What you are saying around 05:10 is interesting. That is a big misconceptions about having good Infrastructure. Almost everybody does own a car and most of the time two. But we have the freedom to chose between options of transportation. For instance, I go to work by bike or tram (10/15min), I walk to the grocery store (5min) and I go by car (1,5H) or train (1H) to my parents. I choose the way of transportation depending on what's the fastest way or what I prefer on at that moment.

It really depends what you want to see like cities or beaches. Obviously capitol cities will be more expensive and busy but have their bonuses too like Rome which really is amazing to see. My top 3 capitol cities would be Rome Amsterdam and Berlin. London is obviously also great and very diverse. Athens Barcelona Prague also amazing to see. Hey, enjoyed your video, cheers form Poland 🇵🇱 I come to the us pretty often, but it's still surprising how extensive your car network is. Your cities are incredibly spread out and you can drive for long distanced and still be surrounded by buildings, not that much of a thing here. It comes in handy sometimes, but it's really hard to get somewhere or foot or in any other way without a car. In my city there's universal tickets and hundreds of tram, metro and bus lines. It's really neat and you should come to europe to experience the culture shock too at some point

If you are travelling around Europe I would definitely look at a family interrail pass. About 600 bucks for a family of four - four unlimited days travel within one month anywhere in Europe. 700 for for five days and 900 for seven days. Literally every country in Europe is covered. No driving, you can pay a supplement for a sleeper car on an overnight journey saving you the cost of a hotel that night. No worries about driving. The kids can move around. You can keep them entertained and play games. No stopping for toilet breaks and all your destinations can be right in the centre of you destination city! Just bear in mind that you will probably want to limit the amount of luggage you take and you'll need to plan ahead. Oh and if you decide to add some extra journeys, in many European countries, your kids will travel free of charge.

I have just planned a trip to visit friends in October. In North Germany, I'll take the underground (5 min away from where I live) to the main railway station (2 stops away). From there I'll get on to the high speed train and 6 hours later, relaxed and rested, I'll get out in Innsbruck, Austria, where I'll be picked up by them. I don't have to drive 6-10 hours on the roads, with idiots who want to drive fast or slow, or be extra vigilant because of all the trucks, and other stupid drivers. Instead, I'll sit in my pre-booked seat, put my homemade coffee on the table, put my earbuds in, and relax while reading a good book on my tablet. I might even visit the restaurant car around lunchtime, or just dose for a while, because, you know, no stupid drivers trying to kill themselves and others, or trying to show who's d**k is bigger by driving way over the speed limit.

In my country it's literally four or five times faster to wait for the train to head to the main city than having to drive there. Our cities are also extremely close to each other, often so close you won't even notice that you just crossed three or four cities, and you definitely won't see many patches of empty countryside like in the USA, so you can expect a train station every two or three minutes from another. Most supermarkets and popular venues have EV charging as well, so you can charge your car while you shop or go to the cinema, with some places, such as malls, giving you a discount or even not charging you for parking for the first couple of hours if you have a receipt as proof that you have paid something inside. This does wonders for them as sometimes people will shop just because of free parking, as parking can be very expensive in big cities, but usually free everywhere else.

Hi, I'm Portuguese but I live in the UK which sadly recently left the EU... I came here because the freedom of movement made it easy for me to do so and I'm sure I wouldn't have done the same now we have to go through the rigmarole of all the paperwork that comes with emigrating. Although it differs slightly from country to country, in general, the standard of living is fairly good across Europe. Healthcare, transport and security are generally good, but, just like everywhere in the world, there are not so great pockets where safety, access to resources (oportunities) and poverty are a concern - These are not isolated cases, every country in Europe has the same inequality issues, though some countries do better than others at hiding this, nevertheless, every single country in Europe has millions of it's citizens still to this day having to resort to food banks to feed themselves and their children, and a lot of these people do work but just can't make ends meet. And yes, the visit is free, but people are still being hospitalised here for malnurishment. I bet no one tells you that. I can see, from the perspective of where I'm standing that America has grave issues concerning social support, and although Europe is certainly going in the right direction, I don't want anyone from outside to think or be led to believe for a second that Europe is null of these issues. I thank my lucky stars that at this point in my life, I am in a comfortable financial situation, but I am absolutely aware that this is not the case for the majority - The struggle is real. Europe, its culture and people are indeed beautiful, but so is America, its culture and its people. So, please don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I urge you to come to Europe and visit us and experience the place, the culture and mingle with the people. You may even be able to observe how much of the American culture, which everyone seems to easily bash, we nowadays consume and even appropriate...

The best was when I was living in the appartment right above the restaurant I was working at. 10 steps, 15 seconds, nothing can beat that lol Now I have a scooter if needed but most of the time I just walk or take the bus. I live in the UK which hasn't got the best public transport in Europe, but I decided to get rid of my car two years ago. I don't live in a city. I live in a small town. I work in several locations - one in my nearest city, another in a neighbouring town and three other locations in suburban parts of nearby towns. The furthest location from my home that I work is about ten or twelve miles. I can have start times from 07:30 and finish times as late as 21:00, but I can still get to and from work by bus easily AND at an annual cost of 25% of what it used to cost me to travel to work by car when you take vehicle costs, fuel, insurance, road tax parking and maintenance in to consideration. Yes, it takes a little longer and, at some sites it means two buses to get to work and it is less flexible and a little less convenient, but cost alone makes it a no brainer aside from the environmental impact - oh, and I can stop off at the pub for a quick pint on my way home. The point is, you need a public transport infrastructure in place before you can get people out of their cars.

It would just be more cost and trouble than just using metro, bus and tram integrated system adn I get everywhere I need for a fraction of the price spent on gas, insurance, and maintenance of the car. Sometimes I do miss my car as I love cars and love driving... but actually I prefer moving around and not worry about parking spaces, traffic jams etc. I think the US can do it locally, on city level. If people have a cheap and efficient alternative, they might give up cars, or keep them for fun, occasional road trip, shopping etc.

Full electric cars are crap, dangerous and expensive to get rid of at the end of their life.

we can not make that many Electric cars becouse the lack of lithium and the " lithium extraction inevitably harms the soil and causes air contamination. " you need to look on the dark side too ... did you all know 1 lithium Electric cars need to drive make more Co2 to make then it will recover over 5 years ... and if a Electric car burns you can not jsut pour water on it and it make Toxic smoke, so ... then we come to where are the power in your Electric cars coming from .. oil, Coal powerplanes ... well .... wind, solar ... hmm, there are alot more then just get a Electric cars on the raod ... it is a pipedream, it willnever work if all the other things dont work first ... and then we need to recycling the Electric lithium.. as take ALOT of power agian ... maybe it is just better to make Car free Sundays .. force ppl to WALK , make Shops close to houseing .. force ppl you use there Brains and not jsut what the hell the get told to think ...

The thing is though, if every country switches to electric cars how much is it go to cost to install power points to change these cars up? Surely these oil companies can make cleaner gas/petrol.

NY has the subway of course. Electric cars aren't the complete miracle for future yet. Problems still exists. One is the electric bill. Two the batteries don't last for a drive of more than ca 150 miles without reloading. And three the batteries themself don't last much more than 5-7 years, and they contain very corrosive acids which are defintive bad for the environment. For visiting the Netherlands I recommend Rotterdam for it's modern architecture especially the Markthal (markethall) and take the waterbus (public transportation over water) to Kinderdijk (windmills) Near Den Haag (The Hague) is Madurodam which is a miniature model of the Netherlands with all it's remarkable buildings, objects and places. For a canal city go to Haarlem or Utrecht which is less touristy than Amsterdam but still big enough to get a real sense of how it al works. In april/may in the westland (north and south holland) the tulipfields are blooming so worth a sight. Although the Deltaworks (Project to build dams, dykes and dunes etc to protect the Netherlands from the sea) is a masterpiece in itself, it is to large to visit all of it, and quite frankly there are enough youtube video's that explain and show everything in detail to get a good sense of the enormity of it all. So to go standing on very windy and cold dyke or dune isn't really worth it in my opinion. The last thing is the Efteling. This entertainment park is older than Disneyland, and Walt Disney got some his ideas from this park. There are modern rides but the oldest part is "Het Sprookjesbos" (Forest of Fairytales) with Red Riding Hood, Snowwhite, Sleeping beauty, and many others. (The Winter Efteling, December-January, is extra magical ).
