Almost unbelievable that the mechanic would not wear shoe protectors or gloves when entering a brand new $125,000 dollar vehicle. I'd be furious.

Same! The least the mechanic could have done is wear gloves and covers on his boots/shoes to protect the vehicle from getting grease stains! Thankfully Mitch was able to get those stains cleaned up.

This is not how dealerships operate normally. All of this is usually peeled off by a specific tech at that dealer and inspected before putting it on the lot for sale and then quickly cleaned before put on the lot. This person wisely told the dealer to not touch it at all other than to PDI the vehicle

90% comes from transport to the dealers. Working in a high volume dealership for 8 years I saw some pretty terrible condition vehicles where the transport drivers would get mud and salt in the winter to the point of dripping off the pedals....

I just got my new dark blue suv back yesterday from having it ceramic coating. It came out beautiful. Because of this channel I knew I had to get it done. Naturally it rain this morning and I had errands to run. By the time I got home it stopped raining. I took a microfiber towel and wipe down the blacks trimming, took me last than 5 minute and it looks good as new. 😊

I thought without the normal extensive cleaning this wash wasn't be as satisfying but the peeling of protective plastic (especially that carpeted floor!) made for very nice substitution! And with all the extra time spent on finishing (as opposed to cleaning) this detail is proof that every detail is its own reward.

What you're doing I do everyday. Hundreds of vehicles a week it's so nice To receive a brand new car with 10 to 15 miles on it because it has to be driven to verify safety inspection and final inspection for delivery to the customer and there's nothing more satisfying. Than opening the door seeing everything covered in plastic and being able to remove it yourself So satisfying
@cindyens2053
@cindyens2053 Жыл бұрын
I have to say that the plastic removal was super satisfying as well as nostalgic for me personally! I used to work in the wash bay at a small Ford dealership. So I was responsible for unwrapping the brand new vehicles. That was definitely one of my favourite things to do, so I immensely enjoyed watching that!

it's highly advised for any new car owner to get it to a detailer before anything else. this is the right time to look into how to best conserve the new car look. a lot can be done regarding protection at this very early stage-maintaining resale value.

Most of these cars are on a truck driving through freeways with all kinds of oils, rocks, dirt, water, and metals being thrown at it. If the vehicle was manufactured overseas, its getting salt on it as well. No way to get the vehicle perfect unless its going into an enclosed truck from the moment it leaves the factory.

I have a buddy who's dad owned a Chevrolet dealership. I guess naively I assumed that all new cars are flawless. From being exposed to my friend's dad's dealership I learned just how filthy new cars can be when they come off the truck. They absolutely need to be thoroughly cleaned before being sold.

The vehicle is fantastic!!! I never knew there were so many ceramic coatings available. It's the first time over seen you use something on the glass other than your cleaner. I use rain-x on my vehicle's glass. Excellent finish!

Not a professional shop. One of the first things I’ve learned in my automotive class I’m taking is you need to keep your hands and body clean. Don’t roll around on the ground, use a creeper. Wear gloves. And treat the car with respect. Don’t get your nasty finger marks everywhere. The owner of the vehicle could make them replace items that have been damaged by oils

I will tell you I've worked at 5 different Dealerships none of the Technicians wear gloves or protective equipment or clean shoes or anything every time I receive a vehicle. It is always dirty looks like it's been. Driven 3 or 400 miles. Even though It has 16 miles on the clock. What should take me 15 minutes to get to the? Customer turns into forty five minutes of bull

Absolutely beautiful!!! Only thing I would suggest is leaving the protective film on the electronic screens and and scuff plates until the very last minute. This would absolutely minimize the slightest chance of scuff from any vacuum hose.

Thanks for the sharing this video. I have a few follow up questions. 1. Any reason why you didn’t show inspection of the paint and any subsequent paint correction? I know it’s a new car but rarely is the paint I damaged. 2. Did you also apply the DLux coating to the bottoms of the running boards? I ask because I wasn’t sure if the owner had something more robust in mind like PPF for the bottoms as they will take more abuse. 3. Any reason why you didn’t decon and coat the inner barrels of the wheels? Seems like the best time to do it. Thanks in advance for any insight.

When I first was watching this I hadn’t actually opened the video. Therefore it was showing auto generated closed captions. That recognizes the sound of the plastic film being pulled off as “applause” 😉😂
