Fast & Easy Replacement Of Snapper Mower Friction Drive Disc

I finally got the friction drive disc for my Snapper riding lawn mower. Today I put it on and the job was very fast and easy.
I had to first cut the lining to fit the inside of the disc. It just presses in and stays in place.
Outside I got my tools together and got to work on the Snapper.
I had to use a socket to hold the center nut in place while I used a wrench to remove the four retaining nuts. The old disc retaining plate fell off. Behind that was a fiber disc.
Then the old drive wheel came off easily.
All I had to do was to put the new drive disc in place. Then the fiber disc and the metal retaining disc.
Next I reversed the process of putting the nuts back in place using a socket wrench to hold the wheel from turning while I tightened the nuts.
The job was done. That fast and easy.
This literally took me longer to get the tools together than it took to do the job.

When you cut that brake material, it looks like the backing paper started to peel. Does that cover up tape that would stick to the disc ?

NO it should be factory glued in place. This the for the outside black rubber ring.

Nice when a repair goes smoothly. So will it have no brakes? I guess you can get by without unless you use the riding mower to ride to local convenience store haha.

lol. No brakes for now. But it stops fast when pressing the clutch anyway so I am not worried about it.

I've never drove them with the brake, the brakes after a while become a huge nuisance.

It looked like a pulley break to me all it does is slow the pulley down when you shut off the blade well that's what they look like on all my craftsmen decks

I generally show more details in the video description. Its in the first sentence so it shows up on search results. I dont know the model. Just that its an old Snapper and it was easy to fix. I paid $20 for it as scrap metal.
