Physically the jog’s sensitivity can’t be adjusted, but you can manage the rotation control into Traktor PRO 3 preferences. The shift button can have a lot of functions, you can also re-map the original functions to implement new ones like you want. Same, into preferences.

I use my MacBook Pro laptop, my Traktor S3 Module and Seagate hard drive which holds my songs as my DJ rig. My issue is, when I search for a song using the search box on my Traktor app, it does not give me what I’m looking for. It doesn’t even provide any letter structure while searching, for example if I type in love it does not show any of those letters in the search. It clearly does not act like a typical search box. What can I do? Any tips or suggestions?

Hello, good review. Very detailed. I have a question. First I used S2 and now I bought s3 ... when I install it on a pre-installed Tractor pro 3 can anyone else use my old s2 with my Tractor 3 activation code without affecting my Tractor 3 software?

Thanks for your support. If this version is not used, it must work. You have your pre-installed with its own licence. You have the Kontrol S3 with an other licence. So no issues for me.

@@DJSTUFF So when with a new hardware license (s3) I pair the controller with an already existing Tractor, the old s2 with its license can be given to someone to use. Because I remember installing the tractor software and hardware with the same code??? Thanks for the express quick reply !! Respect

Well, I understood you had 2 licences. One already put on your computer, you use it now, and one left with your S3. If it is that, your buyer can use it with the S2.

I just worry that when I install the activation code of s3 and give s2 with s2 license to someone else and he installs it,will my Trakor software will become faulty since it was activated elsewhere...I noticed that the S3 is not compatible with the S2 Tractor software because there is no option in the Tractor settings to select the S3 sound card...

The main thing is : if you have 2 Traktor PRO 3 licence, then you can use one with S3 and the second with the S2 on a other computer. If not then it will not be possible.

Huuummm, well, I don’t really remember the price but 707 feels little more metal, strong, S3 is more plastic. But an other time, I don’t think they are the same price, so...

Hello- I'am using the S3 w/my MacBook. In the past I've used the Kontrol S4 and would route audio from the Amazon music or other online sources into channel B or D. Now with the S3, I'am finding that the audio that I'am playing from the out port on the MacBook into the RCA is only playing and not able to be manipulated(volume sliders etc).Am I wrong to think this shouldn't be the case? I think, and it’s just a thinking, that with the S4 ( whatever the version ) you have a standalone mixer inside ( understand 4 outputs and one master though / from your computer ) and it’s not the case with the S3 ( where you have only the master out ). So only master volume from any app on your computer. If you want to test, take a software that knows how to multi tracks output ( Tascam podcast editor is free for exemple ) and see what you have in the outputs settings. But I’m pretty sure it’s that.

Any ideas if you can change the LED play/cue actions. I want them to flash when not being used so I can tell which decks are ready to be played a bit easier?

With Traktor PRO you can change the state of the midi out, but blinking I don’t think so.

@@DJSTUFF I think you’re right I found a video last night re midi out but looks like it’s either on or off 1 or 0, no blinking. Shame as i find it a really useful visual aid when using as a midi with other software

Ok so how do I capture sound into an external sound recorder like and iPad. I have set up my normal audio record set up. And both booth out and master RCA out are not feeding the sound into my iPad or PC. Very strange as it works fine using my pioneer DJM 800. I’m using a RODE iOS sound record device. Like I say never had issues with the other mixers controllers. I can’t understand. So the signal is there if I plug speakers into booth and into rca master or xlr master. The sound is there. It’s when I try to capture that sound using the RODE iOS device adapter.

If your DJM-800 works like that, it necessarily has to work with your Kontrol S3, it has to be.

Thanks so much for your videos. And your replies. Mich appreciated. I’ve been on the Native instruments forum and it is a problem that other djs are having also. They to have ended up running the S3 through a third party amp or mixer. My new MacBook Pro 💻 comes today. So hopefully I’ll have a better Traktor experience with that. But the S3 sound signal is not compatible with the RODE iOS adapter that’s for sure.

How do you actually get samples. I’ve only had my S3 a day so thanks for the video. But how do you actually get the samples. I press shift and sample and nothing happens.

TheDJSTUFF also just to add. The S3 power cable lead needs to be bigger. Not happy with that. And I found out the S3 can run in a low power mode without being plugged in to the electrics. But yeah. I need to know what to do with the samples. How did you get your sample button to light up. ? I can’t see any vids on it. On and can you do a vid on the grid mapping. I think you can have the monotone selected to but I don’t know how t do it. I would really appreciate a detailed video on grid adjusting and sampling.

By default there are no samples at all. You need to import them by yourself. You can get a lot of free sample kits and stems from native instruments website.
