The reason why they put hormones in the meat is because the meat producers unable to keep up with the demand for low quality red meat. Hence the growth hormones are required to satisfied the market by growing the animals faster.

Desi there's actually a multitude of studies proving that people who follow plant based diets have a significant amount of less diabetes, less cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, obesity, osteoporosis, as well as colon cancers and various other types of cancer. The studies are there for the taking, you just have to see them!😊

dana ward yeah but that's not really accurate though. How will you compare a couple of millions who eat plants vs billions of meat eaters. I am sure plant eater get cancer too it's not as many as meat eaters but that's just because there are billions of us compared to the couple of millions of plant eater. It's like doing an experiment with plants to see which one dies faster. One side has 100 thousand plants receiving sun light while the other side has 100 receiving artificial light. The result won't really be too accurate in the end because of the huge difference in numbers.

Kristi is great and right in everything she is saying. When I found out over four months ago after watching "What the Health" and "Forks over Knives" how meat, dairy and eggs effect the body I made dramatic chances to my diet and I am now mainly whole food plant based. Actually organic meats are not as natural as we are lead to believe. The reason why is due to marketing; the industry can get away with saying organic meats when they feed the livestock organic soy. Soy is not the natural diet to feed animals. Grass feed meats are much better and more nutritious (the omega content is much higher. Same thing goes to Pasteur chicken and eggs these chickens eat their natural diet verses eating organic soy. A Pasteur egg has 10 times the omega content compared to a non-Pasteur egg.
