I have nothing against the procedure and don't have the medical expertise to deem the amount of risk involved, but it is disconcerting when a doctor says surgery is not dangerous. All surgery is inherently somewhat dangerous. No such thing as a risk free procedure. The best anyone can do going into anything like this is to be as informed as possible. Pretty sure Pixee Fox herself knows the risks involved in her chosen procedures, because she is very, very serious about it. Her body, her decisions.

It's her body and her decision but it's also a surgeon's decision as well to perform the operation. A surgery like that for the reasons she wants them is unethical to me. There are body dysmorphic psychological issues at work and surgery isn't the answer for that. Removing ribs, modifying ribs, whatever, is altering a part of the body with a very important job and function. I wouldn't let that surgeon near me.

Those doctors trying to argue with him are just being arrogant. They aren't skilled enough to do a procedure that difficult, and to the degree of perfection which he does. He can remove three sections of three ribs with one small incision that is an inch and a half long. He already answered the misunderstandings that it's unsafe because it's only partial, and that there are any other complications beyond the scars and recovery process. To think a plastic surgeon is a therapist is ridiculous. People who have plastic surgery have vanity in their minds, regardless of their reasons. This is like a Jerry Springer version of plastic surgeons. They should be ashamed of themselves for being so stupid to try to make an entertainment show. Thoracoplasty is common as part of spinal fusion as an alternative to iliac crest bone harvesting. Particularly in scoliosis patients... Our rib cages are deformed and instrumentation with fusion doesn't fix that.... It makes it less noticeable but the deformity is still there. I don't see this as a big deal honestly

I think it is a bit scary with what this woman is doing to her body. To have 6 ribs removed just to have a tiny waist is sad. I understand it is her body and her money, but when do doctors draw the line between safe procedures and unsafe ones. Everything is fine for her in the now, but what will her future hold? I wonder if she really thought this one through. And I really wonder if that plastic surgeon explained to her what can and may happen as she ages, or did he simply take her money and say good bye? Its not because they don't like the procedure that they should attack the doctor and pixee. All surgeries have risks. This one doesnt seem worse then the rest, just more uncommon. They are both adults, let them make their own choices

I don't think that the panel asked proper questions to the doctor they were really opiniated towards the doctor,and the surgeon did answer their questions honestly he believes that procedure is safe and he fully doesn't remove the ribs... there questions should have been was the patient fully evaluate about the procedure and was the pros and cons mention to her and was a mental evaluation done before she undergone that surgery...bt instead the panel choose to attack the patient and doctor
