The name of the city, Kuching, is thought to derive from the Malay word kucing, meaning cat. Many of the locals refer to Kuching as the "Cat City" but it more likely comes from the Chinese word for port ("cochin") coupled with the Malay name mata kucing (cat's-eye) for the longan fruit, a popular trade item.... There you go 😂 😂

古晉給我的第一印象是艾城的故鄉。 現在比較慵懶,偏貓派一些! 我是2020領養了一隻流浪貓後才發現貓也很無邪,天真可愛... 也會像狗一樣忠誠,親人,但又不會太黏! In a world, COOL 😊!
It was my pleasure driving Ian around in Kuching. A nice and humble guy.A Taiwanese who resides both in Taiwan and US. As a Penang born,I did introduce him to Penang as well as KualaLumpur and Malacca.
我是狗派,小時候也是覺得貓感覺有點邪惡XD, 這種悠閒輕鬆的旅行真的很不賴,看了心又飛出去的感覺,我也好想吃吃看哥羅麵,謝謝 Ian 帶我們認識新景點

Welcome to Sarawak Ian, never would’ve thought you’ll stop by Sarawak!! As a fellow Sarawakian myself, I’m glad that you enjoyed Kolo Mee and Sarawak Laksa! I’ve tried literally all the Laksas in Malaysia and Sarawak Laksa really hits home, well Penang Assam Laksa comes close in second place! We have a lot of indigenous vegetables like Bilin, Bagu that are only native to Borneo and they’re absolutely delicious when cooked in Sambal or coconut milk (lemak style), so do try that if you’ve ever stopped by again!

Planning my Malaysia trip for end of Nov--early Dec, would you say it's a good season to go to Sarawak/Sabah? Or should I stick with pennisular Malaysia?

@@katiirabbi I would say so yeah!! Sarawak is a great place for sight seeing and just basking yourself in nature and definitely lots of food! However it is a tad raining this time round of the year so get your umbrella or raincoat ready!

Hey Ian,glad that you travel to Kuching. One day definitely not enough. You should visit the real long house and stay for a night to experience it. Hope you will be back with Eric for the Kolo mee. 😊
