The problem with newer "Hardstyle" is it lacks real emotions and creativity. I think it's a good thing genres evolve themselves. Hardstyle has evolved, but when it evolved, it pretty much threw away what made Hardstyle the best genre in the world (imo): the emotions. There are no real emotions in Hardstyle anymore and there haven't really been any real emotions in Hardstyle for the past 5 years. Few exceptions do exist of course but they are few. The creativity these days are almost 0. Same can be said however for electronic music in general. Mainstream electronic music used to be great, now it's all garbage.

Your theory is correct in my opinion, but it is not the only reason. Another reason is the advancement of technology. These days all you need is a laptop and you can make music. Because of software piracy, people have been able to gain access to software worth probably 1000-2000$ (maybe even more than that). This has created an oversaturation in the music industry, where most people are trying to get their 15 minutes of fame. To get those 15 minutes of fame, you have to follow the herd and copy everyone else and hope for the best. Quality is something the masses have completely forgotten about.

Ahhh yes.. a brief wave of almost a sadness washed over me during this set. Recognising music I haven’t heard for literal years. But a happy nostalgia at its finest. The memories. People at the time. Relationships. Where we were in life at those moments with epic bass faces engaged while stompin, shuffling, gabb’n out or smashing a mad hakk. Turning to your mate at the rave on those mad anti-drops, you know where it’s all synth melody build up into total harsh screech over an earth shaking kick, with that look of ‘fuck yes this is going to slap nuns’ before absolutely losing all mind to the awesome and loud presentation. Ahhh the days. Defqon 2009 Australia being the first massive rave I’d seen in comparison to our locals for the previous 10 years for that type of music. I get this heavy feeling in my chest but whilst smiling as a zatox activator plays, you could relate it to a break up almost, but only because of the simpler times my mind plays and remembers all of a sudden when you hear tunes like that, that were a massive part of your life at some point. Anyhow, ramblings of a passionate bass head rave loving bush doofing muso! Peace

Hell yeah man. I’m 34. And whilst hardstyle isn’t really my go to anymore, I still appreciate all the sickest times we had listening to this over the past 19+ years, whether sober or not, at raves & clubs, parties or at home, and will always cherish this music and the memories attached and embedded. Before this era you had guys like blutonium boy, gizmo, tornadozzer, citizen, buzz fuzz, hell the list goes on, early angerfist included. But these days it’s the industrial hardcore and hardcore as a fave for myself, amongst other genres of techno and weird and out there electronica . But I always come back and appreciate where it all started for the harder techno. This and hard techno/trance and acid. Much love people. Raver for life. Much love from Australia.

back in time to my 14 years, when i discovered the hardstyle thanks to a friend what a great music at first I didn't like it but by the pass of the years at 18 this become part of my rebel electronic/metalhead life. For example: OMG (Technoboy), NoiseControllers Crump, D-Block Stefan - Kingdom, Dj Stephanie Black High Heels, HeadHunterz, Showtek FTS PD: Dj Darklight (my friend x'D).
