It's crazy bc they were only a band for a short time. Imagine if Jim would have lived through the 70s even and died in the early 80s?! Jim prolly would have taken some time off got right and been better than ever before making at least one more great album. No one will ever know what was inside Jim's head when he died but it's fun to think about!!

Just my opinion but each had some weird circumstances surrounding their deaths. Jimi was almost definitely drowned.

This music video was made in 1983 for the "Alive She Cried" album promotions on MTV. In the 80s they also made two music videos for Strange Days and Roadhouse Blues. In the 90s they made videos for The Changeling and Break on Through. All videos using the same archival 16mm footage, and all videos being produced and supervised by Ray.

My friends Jim and Ken Collier promoted the bayfront disaster. I felt bad for Jim after what happened with that. It's great to see him up here like this There are two times I could have met him. When I was hanging out with Velvet underground in New York and down in Miami when he was coming in for that concert Sadly I never got the chance Today July third we lost both Jim and Brian Jones. Patti Smith is up on substack today with me doing a tribute to both of them.

This was the EARLY nineties, so I had my walkman, my GIGANTIC headphones, and the Doors' Greatest Hits album; and i just jammed out, that whole bus ride. I fell in love with the Doors, as a kid; and it has only grown stronger, over the years. I'm 43, now, and the Doors are still one of my absolute favorite bands, of all time.
