I’m considering to go back into missions but probably going to prepare for the next year . I’ve worked for a whole year in America and find myself arguing whether I should work and support myself to go back to missions or be support by friends and family .it was hard making sure I have a consistent time to raise support. My mom and dad always told me people get older and you can’t really ask or beg from them but they don’t see the other half of the side as a missionary. Begging is different from asking. Being a missionary is very difficult and I am so thankful that I saw your video. My family loves missionary work and we have adopted three other siblings. I am from Ukraine and I have done missionary work with (ywam) . I am struggling to understand how to support myself but also trying to walk in faith and surrendering the standard as an American that you are supposed to support yourself and provide for yourself independently. Yes that’s true but honestly that is one of the hardest things that I see as missionaries. I don’t recommend going all out in the first year as a missionary I recommend getting enough information and learning the country learning yourself possibly if you’re married to know how your spouse reacts grow slowly. If it’s your first time in that country then that’s gonna be extremely difficult. The most important part I think for me was learning how to not get upset when I asked for help. So I kind of got frustrated with this organization because a lot of people thought I was begging for money but did not see the other half of the organization and how you walk by faith and it was a moment of truth for me. Am I really called to be a missionary. I was called to be a missionary but I just needed to realize the other half of communication and teamwork and all of that so that’s what I’m thinking about right now. I would Support myself and do that as a missionary instead of asking for help I guess is that normal and is that walking in faith. I was reminded by Paul how he supported himself and other apostles. I do love this organization and the ministries but just not sure how to surrender myself in this and let go of financial fears!!

This is big! Thanks for your comment. Its a challenging situation. I think you need to let go of all of the reasons and totally surrender to Jesus. Ask him to make clear what you are to do and then ask him to show you how to do it well. Fundraising can be a joyful and fun thing but you need some training. The starting point is surrender. If God tells you do work to earn money and be a missionary as well, then do it. If he tells you to trust him to provide financially through support raising, then do that. It is that simple in the decision. From there you work out how to do it. God is working with lots of people in both paths.

@@PhilipDosa hey thank you for sharing I was supposed to get my heart right with God and be able to surrender that I think a month after you shared so I'm totally okay with walking out in faith and Steppin Out I'm actually planning to visit Ukraine this year by faith and just continue to do that with the same organization YWAM ! It definitely takes a lot of heart in mind but I definitely have a vision now and I see my heart to serve the father's in the sun's why the be with the same organization or stepping out in faith and just trying to be available and served in anyway!

I’m glad you mentioned #1. We (as a church) support several missionaries and really like to know what’s going on with them . I think it’s good for us to get that it’s stressful and not easy to write updates . I get the adjustment to new areas. We love to support our missionaries!! Your needed and we want to cover you .🙏

As a pastor I would love to respond to a lot of you statements. You deserve a vacation!!!!! You deserve it!!! Hit us up @ The House Hilo Facebook and KZbin . It’s sad that supporters don’t understand. Leaving our families and home is so hard. What you have done for the Lord matters!!!

@@christysmith5211 Thanks for your comments. Many of our supporters do get it and most haven't had the chance to say one way or the other. Its often our internal struggle and dialogue and if confirmed its often just one or two supporters who don't fully understand. It is hard, but we also signed up for it! Much love!

Yea. Tasha really keeps us consistent with the newsletters. The fundraising is really hard if you don’t get trained and do it all very intentionally, giving yourself enough time.

@@PhilipDosa Well, as you know, my channel is about evangelism, so I would really love to hear more topics around this area. What works when sharing the gospel/what does not? And if this doesn't fit your channel, I'd love to possible do a 10-15 minute zoom or google video hangout with you in a few months and get your thoughts so that I can create a video on it! ;)

I plan on addressing this topic indirectly in future videos. Perhaps I will get a visitor on the channel to address it as my focus as a misisonary is on media so my gospel sharing skills aren't as strong. I have thoughts on it, but want to be walking it out more before I share. I do have one video that is kinda about evangelism from a guest. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWHKi5ifn5aibMU

@@PhilipDosa My parents retired to Panama. We bought a Panamanian styled house and tried to build it into a nicer place but we eventually gave up and ended up selling it and moved to David, Panama where we now rent a nicer American styled smaller house with fewer issues. I am looking into teaching English online. We did one year in the Cayman Islands when my Dad was the pastor of Cotton Tree Bay Church of God. So, we have done missionary work overseas. Now, its more of a retirement, vacation lifestyle.
