This is always weirdly fascinating guys! Thanks for showing us the reality of our human impact "underground." Kudos to you for the work you do! Here in NY state (and, I believe, throughout the US) public water and sewer is accessed through municipal manholes in the street. Our property has about a 100' long, 4" pvc/ partial cast iron sewer line leading to the street. There are cleanouts in the basement and a couple in the yard (gah-den!) that allow the plumber to run a snake and camera to identify and clear a clog. Homes and businesses here generally don't have manholes. Restaurants have grease traps but that's a different animal. Of course rural places have their own wells and septic systems, so also different sitch entirely!

In Arizona we have clean out valves at our homes but the man hole covers are out in the street. So neat to see how you get things unclogged.

this is fascinating, in Canada (or at least where i'm from) we dont have manholes on private property the manholes are typically in the middle of the street

Same in Poland. On industrial properties you can find manholes very often, but on private ones they are very very rare. However there are mostly no need for them, as the main sewer line runs out from the inside of the house straight to the street. Connections from bathrooms, kitchens etc are made inside, hidden in the walls or under the floor. Sometimes you can find small cleanouts with screw on caps here and there.

7:13 QUESTION for you. Why is the brewery dumping there BSG’s or Draff down the drain when it is an excellent source of protein and vitamins for livestock, compost, substrate for mushrooms just to name a few? Farmers in the US will take this byproduct and mix it with cattle feed, or compost etc.

Coming from a brewer: Spent grains could do this, but you have that much effluent from a brewery to clean that out. Spent grains are taken out in the brewhouse.

Most breweries around me, that I'm aware of, sell or donate their spent grains as animal feed for nearby farms.

Why does it not occur to anyone that the blockage might be farther than the 15 meter jetter hose can reach? Don't you have an extension hose for this exact circumstance? It's like you're trying to climb a 50 foot wall with a 40 foot ladder.

I would say a majority of places have enough man holes to cover this 15m of hose theoretically do 30m of drain access from both ends.

I bent a piece of rebar into a 90 degree hook on one end about 10" long or so to find inlets and outlets

They dont need rebar. They use the spade to find the inlets and outlets - the spade is much longer, they can find where they are by prodding them, it is one of the first things they do.

Frankly the worst beer I ever tasted (and that included Watneys Special which was bad enough) was some crap my mate from Wallasey introduced me to, back in the late seventies...Greenall Whitley it was called...diabolical - tasted like used washing up water...oh and they had some shite lager too called Grunhalle...god it was dire...
