Its not a sudden thing that she is over the top friendly, she has had a talk show for YEARS! Whoever has said negative things about her bubbly, affectionate personality has no one to blame but themselves. Watch her show on ANY day and thats who she is. I have a colleague at work who does the exact same thing. She’s always touching my shoulder, stomach, leg, hand, etc. It’s so awkward and inappropriate. I immediately back up and try to make my ‘please don’t’ body language extremely obvious but she just can’t help herself. It’s a bad habit I guess? She’s a sweet soft spoken person so everyone is afraid to tell her that it’s weird.

There’s no backlash about it. Don’t exaggerate. Some people get their panties in a wad that she’s so affectionate. She joked about it awhile back and has no plans to change who she is. She’s always been that way. Don’t go on her show and don’t watch it if it upsets you that much.
