I had a big area, was on acid treatment before and it wasn’t working, if anything it made it worse. Went on swift, it took 5 appointments and my skin is pretty much back to normal. Swift is painful, especially more when your skin is starting to heal, but it’s so worth it and I would 100% recommend it if you can afford it and want to have quick results

I’ve just finished my second swift treatment and the pain is 10/10. After my first treatment I noticed the hard skin that grows over the area has been a lot less. I have two areas that are being treated, so that’s a lot of “zaps” with the wand. Fingers crossed that it works for me.

Was that your first verruca treatment with swift? It is painful! I always tell patients it’s a 10/10 for pain BUT the pain is short lived, 2-3 secs and 5 applications usually, you can take a break in between applications as long as the probe doesn’t move and more importantly it works for verrucas! I hope it’s more bearable next session

I had my first swift treatment today and I have to say the pain is 10/10. It felt like the burn from touching the stove and I felt every dose. It's been hours and my foot still stings in the places were I had it applied. It honestly feels like a burn and I'm struggling to put my foot down and walk. I hope this pain and stinging sensation goes away soon :(

I would recommend you contact the podiatrist who provided the treatment, generally speaking I tell my patients icing post procedure may help and paracetamol, I don't recommend ibuprofen as we don't want to suppress inflammation. The podiatrist will reduce the dosage on subsequent appointments, look for colour changes to the verruca (will change to a purpleish colour)

Her verrucas resolved, forgot to do the follow up video! 😂 to be fair I think we have done over 1000 Swift Verruca patients, generally we have a 75-80% success rate, some don’t resolve and that’s a possibility with any treatment, good luck on Friday!

@@TheDrFoot well! I have had my first treatment. Even though I was aware the treatment could be painful, I wasn’t fully prepared for the pain 😬 I managed half of the treatment on a 10 setting, then had to drop to 9 then 8. I’m booked in again, in 4 weeks time. Fingers crossed it will work over the treatment course. Your video is one of the honest videos that shows it hurts, I have seen one where they are supposed to be doing the treatment, the patient doesn’t flinch, then the camera panned over to the Swift machine and it’s set on zero. 🤷🏻♂️

Was hers particularly painful because of the severity of the wart? I have a verruca I'm looking to use Swift on but it's nowhere as bad as hers. Does that likely mean the pain will be less?
@TheDrFoot Жыл бұрын
After doing 1000’s of these I realise it’s not the size or depth of the Verruca that correlates to the pain the patient feels, it’s the individual, some patients get into a zen like state and feel very little pain, others are so anxious before they even get into the clinic that they experience severe pain.

@TheDrFoot Жыл бұрын
Interesting question, yes you can do swift to a diabetic patient with verrucas as long as there is no vascular or neurological pathology and I would change my normal protocol and not be so aggressive

I had the swift treatment 3 weeks ago. The 2 x verrucae have both turned black, are raised and very painful to walk upon. Would you say this is to be expected? Thank you!
@TheDrFoot Жыл бұрын
Changing colour yes but raised and painful after 3 weeks, maybe not, if it’s been 3 weeks then your due another treatment according to the protocol, visit the clinic and the podiatrist will debride the verruca, I suspect you have a blood blister (which is fine, don’t worry it’s to be expected) which needs to be irrigated and dressed

@TheDrFoot Жыл бұрын
10 watts x 2 seconds x 5 applications per Verruca is normal however I do vary this from patient to patient, I will go down to 7 watts if the patient finds it unbearable and if the patient can take the treatment I will do 10w x3 secs x 7 applications per Verruca so it depends

@Worzel_Gummidge_7110 күн бұрын
It’s normal! The treatment is causing trauma to the area so that your body knows there is a problem (the verruca), then your body will start to heal the area. Keep up with the treatment it’s worth it in the end. ❤

@ so I have my 3rd treatment booked end of this month. Not much improvement sadly my podiatrist says it’s still the same size but my body’s definitely reacting to it as it’s sore and scabbed over

@@Loudo28keep up with the treatment! I know it’s uncomfortable when having it and after a sessions, but rest assured it’s worth it. Just think “every treatment session is a step forwards to being verruca free” I didn’t see any reduction in size until a month after the final session, then 4-5 weeks after that they had gone. When I was having the treatment my verrucas were sensitive and blue/red but that’s normal.

Interesting question, it’s been recommended by the manufacturers not to use local anaesthetic as previously podiatrists have done this under local anaesthetic and caused a ulceration, I know from personal experience that providing local anaesthetic for this procedure leads to severe post procedural pain once the anaesthetic wear off

ORE MONEY BY DOING NON INVASIVE BS TREATMENTS THAT OFTEN DO NOT KILL THE WART.. FORCING THE PATIENT TO PAY MORE AND MORE AND MORE.. UNTIL FINALLY WHEN NOTHING ELSE WORKS AND YOUVE SHELLED OUT $5k THEY WILL ASK FOR ANOTHER $1 or $2k FOR THE SURGERY THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE! ITS ATROCIOUS
