I love that the only thing she wanted was her wheel! That's so cute, after finding the perfect home, she still wants the wheel. Even going on long trecks for it, amazing.
@Fazwick2 сағат бұрын
I remember reading a study about hamster wheel. Something about pet hamster need toys like the wheel to be active in captivity, while wild ones don't because they have enough enrichment and exercise. Turns out when they put hamster wheel outside, wild mice often stops by for a run. (also frogs and slugs somehow). They first put food nearby to bait the mice to the area, but after removing the food, they still come to play every now and then.

Labeling that as "ideal for hamsters" should be illegal. Great video, again I don't know how you are able to film half of these shots.. yeah that doesn't really say much because I'm not the smartest but I do know filming and editing this is very very hard!

Did you keep her? She's adorable. If you did and you want to make her life better, change the wheel for the bigger one (at least 20cm in diameter). I almost cried when I saw her going into the tank. Thats so sad that that many hamsters have to live like that in those small cages without ability to dig, with too small wheels what is really bad for they backbone, and with chemical food withous any seeds and protein (its like we were eating only fast food the whole life). Tysm for your hard work, you made her life so much better.

That plastic cage from Tiny Tales isn’t suitable for hamsters as you saw. It's best to use a glass or proper wire cage with plenty of space for them to move around comfortably, at least 450 square inches of floor space. For bedding, avoid cedar or pine as they can harm hamsters. Instead, opt for paper-based bedding like Carefresh or aspen shavings. Make sure to provide a wheel that's at least 8 inches in diameter for proper exercise, and a hiding spot for them to feel secure. I use a wooden wheel that’s gentle on their feet. Proper ventilation and regular cleaning are also essential for their health! Tho, using a plastic cage temporarily while you're cleaning a larger cage or like you did Dr Plants, it can be fine for short periods. *Just wanted to write this on here, cya.*

That's what has always bothered me with chain pet stores they tend to sell tiny cages hamsters are used to traveling miles every night before coming back to the burrow it really doesn't give them the space they need. Its the same for fish they give you a tiny tank and overload it with fish and they all die within a week

BTW I love the video and the idea, I love rodents edit: It's not a russian hamster... It's a hybrid bc its from pet store. Animals from pet stores are from puppy mills, where they live in horrible conditions and being treated like shit :((

I work at petsmart and never recommend those cages. If someone wants to purchase it to get a hamster i won’t sell it to them! Some places do, but usually we get support from management not to! If you want to give your hamsters protein without getting real worms or roaches I always recommend dried mealworms. Giving a couple a day is perfect
