I honestly have no idea why they coded this banner to reduce damage by 35% of its base...I guess it was easier for them? It bugs me because a flat 35% reduction no matter what would be more consistent...but oh well. Hence why I made the video, so people have a better idea of how the banner works. I once saw a group of 3 enemy soldiers that worked together and used all 3 banners at once. Just imagine: 3 soldiers that are immune to crits, have insane damage resistance, have mini-crits, have speed boost AND heal on hit. It was both awesome and PTSD-inducing.

Gonna add on to that real quick: Touhou is amazing! The music, characters, and community make Touhou fun even for people who suck at bullet hell games (like me). Hell, it even got a fan-made anime that looks good enough to be official.

One interesting thing to note... a Spy's backstab deals exactly 6x the victim's base health as damage, and is also considered a critical hit... With the Battalion's Backup you can still die to a backstab because now a Spy's knife will deal 2x the damage of your base health, since 6 divided by 3 equals 2... A backstab on a Battalion's Backup Soldier (220hp) with the buff activated should deal 440 damage instead of 1320, so you still die to a Spy regardless of the resistances

To be more specific, a backstab does damage equal to double the target's current health before any other damage modifiers are applied, then it also crits for good measure. Meaning if you were at 1 health and get backstabbed, you take 6 damage.

Finally, my favorite secondary weapon for the soldier, and the video that made me realize it's existence. Thanks to this video I met Zesty, and since then I discovered all of his content, I must say that in some way I'm grateful to his videos... I mean, if it wasnt for them I would probably be playing all meta all the time, but his content made want to try new things and discover more fun (for me) and unique ways to play the game with different loadouts.

I hope the next Zesty vid you'll react to is about the Quick-Fix... because combining the Battalion's with the Quick-Fix ubercharge is basically like using stock uber but on the entire team at once, while also being invulnerable to knockbacks like explosions and airblast

@@theduckgoesmoo about as stock tf2 as possible. Just random crits, random bullet spread and sprays enabled, so all stock settings with stock maps. Just a Gabe intended. One thing I will warn you about is the voting system for maps uses the normal 1 through 9 number keys instead of the F keys most servers use. So if you're the kind of person who uses those keys to switch weapons instead of scrollwheel then when a map vote comes up pressing 1 for your primary for instance will vote for the first map on the vote list. Other than that it's great and a lot of fun. It's population times are somewhat erratic but if you're streaming you can probably populate the sever on you own with viewers.

So, just wanted to say that the song at the beginning is called Night of Knights (before anyone says anything, yes I know of the other ways it is said, but they all lead to the same results, and this is one of the official names I am going with). The song is from the Touhou Project Series, a franchise that mostly known for its extremely difficult bullet hell and characters based on spirits, gods, Yokai, etc. The other major thing it being popular for is the music, as you heard. However, the most interesting thing in my opinion, is the community and the acceptance of fan made content. The creator known as ZUN is completely fine with fan games as long as they follow a set of guidelines, which are honestly extremely reasonable what is enforced. This honestly sets Touhou project apart from many other franchises since these fan games are considered official (by the fans anyway) and expand on characters of the story more and more. The type of games made is also insane, there is basically a game for everyone in Touhou.

But you see, the damage you take is theoretically even FURTHER reduced because you have 10% more health. This higher health pool also means you have more max overheal, AND pickups grant more. Seriously, I ALWAYS use this thing.

The Backup is indeed good, but still underrated and underused. It's even part of the Tank Buster set for Soldier and I hardly ever see it. It's additionally very good against bots, but that's just a lot of effort for very little fun. I would recommend you watch Zesty Jesus' video on the Loch 'n Load next.
