You can, - Add a metallic PBR material of your choice - Add a wobbliness to the lavalike orange spot to make it look a little unpredictable instead of just a perfect circle - Plates and orange emissive material looks isolated from each other so there should be a way to make both of them look like they are interacting with each other. - You can use a black-orange coloured image to give it a variation and realism without many efforts. - Abstract Background reflections can be added. (Little bit practice work for intermediate learners )

just a quick note for everyone using blender 2.81 who wants to follow this tutorial: not all the settings for the voronoi node mentioned at 1:40 are possible anymore since the node has been hcnged in 2.81 the way to still get the exact texture shown is by making a math node, setting it to subtract and connecting hte distance value of a voronoi texture set to 3D, F2 and chebychev into the top value and the distance value of a voronoi texture set to 3D, F1 and chebychev. then you will have the exact same texture as shown in this video. ideally the scale values on both voronoi textures should be the same (if you want to copy this tutorial exactly: it's still 1.7) otherwise you'll end up with very weird looking patterns

Plug those into a math node that is set to subtract. (if you have read the comments you have already done so) Then plug subtract to 3 ColorRamp like this imgur.com/ndxYuEh. @@automatic241 i love my GPU thats why i like eevee. but when i render with cycles no matter what i change it wont utilize my GPU. i wanted to run a 500 frame water sim the water was a glass texture so i tried rendering with cycles and my CPU usage shot up 100% and by the time the 10th frame was rendered my cpu was already nearing 80 degree s fahrenheit. then i learned how to use the glass material for the water while rendering in eevee and the most my graphics card went up to was 60% and did not even change from its regular temperature.

@SkinnyBlackout 5 жыл бұрын
What are you on about? Cycles is nowhere near as intensive as eevee, it just takes longer to render. Try making a complex scene and render it with eevee and see for yourself how your performance chokes up, whereas with cycles you can easily browse the internet or watch a video at the same time as you render. Besides, most eevee renders look like trash to a person who is well aware of screenspace gimmicks.

At 8:38, you can just duplicate the line of cubes as a whole, rotate them 90 degrees on the z-axis, and then position them correctly on all four sides of the beveled cube. Just a tip to make things faster and easier. Like this comment if this was helpful.

500 render samples is waaay too much for anyone to handle in a timely manner xD Try using branched path tracing instead, you can then selectively choose which part of the render should use more samples, otherwise you are just sampling stuff you don't need. Also, take a look at the newly added Intel AI denoiser node, you'll enjoy it's power. You won't need as much samples, and get a way cleaner image.

I know this was 2 years ago but I found the problem. The bottom part of the color ramp is changed to orange rather than the black it's supposed to be because of the part earlier where he made the mistake of putting in the orange early. Or at least I think that's why it saved that way. Either way it can easily be fixed by clicking the bottom part of the color ramp and shifting it to black for anyone wondering how to fix it!

In Blender 2.81 the Voronoi texture node has been changed. The equivalent of Intensity-Chebychev-Crackle is: the substraction of the distance output of two Voronoi nodes, one with 3D-F1-Chevychev and the other 3D-F2-Chevychev. Similar to this wiki.blender.org/wiki/File:Blender2.81_voronoi.png. It took me two hours to find out.

Whenever I watch your videos, I always try to guess the next node you're going to use, it really helps in understanding how these nodes work.

(copied from other comment) For people who are stuck with the crackle effect,,,duplicate the voronoi texture.Ste one of them to f2 and the other to f1.....use a math node and subtract f2-f1....plug it to the color ramp and adjust the slider......make sure to connect DISTANCE outputs to the math node

did you know that in blender, to copy and paste text or numbers, you don't have to click into the text field? Just hover over it and press ctrl+C or V or stuff like that. Not that important, but kinda cool

@@TheDucky3D Also, in those fields you don't even have to copy paste. Just hold left click on the first field, and drag down over the other ones. You'll see them turn a darker grey, then you let go and it has copied the numbers across.

If anyone's trying this in 2.81 or above you'll have noticed that crackle as gone out of the voronoi. To solve this duplicate the voronoi set one to F1 and the other to F2 then combine the distance with a math node set to subtract then add the colour ramp.
