@@aceclover758 make Panik’s monsters illusion monsters, and make it so that if the castle is out, they can destroy things in battle. Give them a field spell that’s treated as “Yami” and let them avoid interaction while yami is up.

I like how Konami tried to make the King Pumpkin and the Castle of Dark Illusion works together, despite them not being used by the same person in the anime... and like.... the stat increase in the anime is the pumpkin's effect....

The problem youtubers run into is when they do intros they get “I prefer when creators cut the nonsense intros and get straight into the video!” and when they cut the intros they get comments like these. There’s no pleasing everybody so they ultimately have to do whatever they personally prefer.

9:28 Honestly they could go with the Army theme and add another monster called Goblin Shield Force, which has ludicrous high defense and the special ability that when it's on the field all attacks are directed at said monster, allowing it to protect the Attack Forces when they are vulnerable.

Machine King might already been in progress some. Clockwork Night (the continuous spell) does make all monsters on the field machines and has a search effect for Earth Machines when banished from the GY (which the Machine Kings are). Additionally, the new link monster, Clockwork Knight searches out the continuous spell. If you look at Clockwork Knight's design, there are several parts of that monster's design that mirrors Robotic Knight's design: the green gem on the chest, the gold pauldrons with the red gem ontop of the shoulders, silver head with the gold face guard, to name a few.

Machine Kings design was just so COOL that as a kid I played him at 3 in old video games and recess meta. 3 Vanilla monsters mentioned him in their card text!!! That hype alone deserves some retrain love. Unfortunately hes a prime example of a card that could’ve been good but never saw use because of Summoned Skull and Jinzo. Alternatively Perfect machine kings design isn’t AS cool as machine king but he had the effect Machine King should’ve had. Perfect King should’ve been able to resurrect a fallen machine with a lower level than it AND gain ATK (maybe some hard OPT card effect immunity when there are other machines face up or a built in DNA Surgery effect. Anything that would be able to justify its level 8 2700 atk base stats.)

They would have to be careful with the Goblin Attack retrains. So the Goblin Bikers are actually also generic Goblin support. For example, Goblin Bikers Gone Wild summons a "Goblin" not just a "Goblin Biker." Right now there are builds that go into Scrap Goblin to do synchro plays, but if there were another good Goblin archetype, it could be bridged as well.

Pumpking could get its own archetype that utilizes pumpkin counters and Call of the Haunted. We could get retrains of Armored Zombie, Clown Zombie, Dragon Zombie, Great Mammoth of Goldfine, The Snake Hair, and Pumpking. Pumprincess could get support with this archetype.

Yeah, giving the similarities with the Battle Pyramid archetype, it'd be nice to have mixed them together and done something cool with Thalia and ...the other guy (name I forgot). It's kind of a shame too cause they are pretty powerful, just clunky to summon and that's really the only thing holding them back. But gosh I just love thier designs honestly.

All i really want is new support for the Jurrac archetype, those little fellas deserve it. They have one of my favorite arts, i mean flaming dinos that grow big, and NOT just a 40 card combo that locks the opponent out of the game? heck yes. would probably be a lot of work to give them seperate support from other dino support, but i can hope! Cool video, the froozing/burning and Pyramid of light cards could be very interesting!

The funniest thing is, is that Pumpking the King of Ghosts, Cyber Commander, Goblin Attack Force and even Machine King will surely eventually get a retrain & support because "DM nostalgia" . Cyber Commander was played by Tristan, Goblin Attack Force by Joey, Pumpking by Bonz (shoutouts to Duel Links) and even Machine King was played by Nezbitt and Bandit Keith 2:19 Even DuelLogs is aware this guy has chances of getting support 10:34 remember this card was played by joey. so it can always get nostalgia support 11:48 surprised this yugi mutou card hasn't gotten its own archetype

Yeah goblin attack force absolutely will get an archetype at some point. It has so many stand alone cards that can be an “archetype”. They can do so many fun things with it too. 1) give them some sort of card that lets them swap their attack for their defense mode 2) maybe quick effect tribute goblin( whatever they’re called) to gain attack equal to tributes monster

With machine kings you could just make the loyal subjects into effect monsters that revolve around the machine king Maybe one of them helps protect your "machine king" from card effects and/or battle Another one can search for a "machine king" card from your deck and maybe special summon it or just put it into hand And the final one can maybe just buff your machine monsters further I'm not that creative but yeah Alternatively if you just want to make the current machine kings better to already have protection and such on the card You could just have it like this One special summons a machine king monster from the grave One special summons a machine king monster from the deck And one special summons machine king monster from the hand

a PSCT suggestion for the last line of "Pyramid of The Sphinxes" - If a "Sphinx" monster you control battles: that monster's ATK/DEF become equal to it's combined ATK/DEF during the Damage Step only. also, thank you for designing it in a way that also helps Exxod Sphinx strats

Yeah, Bonz really deserves more respect than he got. He's the only one who was killed off and actually stayed dead despite being an unlucky child with a face defect that probably was a victim of severe bullying. Even in Duel links he questions why he's suddenly alive again, and if they can give Rex Raptor's two headed dragon some new cards (and mighty fine ones as well), they can throw Bonz something. I feel like Pumpking was WAY over balanced for the time, but the idea of protecting a monster to make it stronger in conjunction with the nature of zombie decks could lead to some really cool modern strats.

Perfect Machine King is even better in Reshef of Destruction, than in the real card game. Gaining 1.000 Attack & Defense for every Machine Type monster on the field, including itself, is at the very least a much better effect.

I don't even know why Konami tied Castle of Dark Illusions and Pumpking the King of Ghosts together. Player Killer and Ghost Kotsuzuka have no interaction with each other. Both can get a retrain that actually caters to their respective duelists' decks. An archetype build around Castle of Dark Illusions feature Dark Chimera, King of Yamimakai, Barox, Metal Guardian, Reaper of the Cards, and Yellow Luster Shield with effects accurate to the manga. And an archetype for Pumpking the King of Ghost featuring a new Call of the Hunated, Stop Defense, Snake Hairs, Zombie Dragon, Zombie Clown, Amored Zombie, and Golden Demon Elephant.

I want to see a retrain of Super Roboyarou/ Super Robolady. A neat fusion archetype that can swap out with eachother in the ED. Could make an even more fun one where its a full ED summoning mechanic group that you swap between to get the one you need.

I'll never forgive them for errataing Infernalqueen - the +1000 attack per round buff she gave used to be permanent and stack with itself as long as she stays on the field. The DRV reprint and onward makes it only last until the end of the turn.

Goat format facilitates an "Orks & Goblins" deck. Stuff your deck with Goblin attack forces and Giant orcs, and any other high-attack monster with a drawback, then either use Final Attack order or Skill Drain to negate the said drawbacks.

Yeah I feel the Attack force cards still have a niche given the things you can do with them after they attack and they could work as a quick surprise 2K attacker in a pinch. Though I'm a duel links player so I mostly see value in the potential cards have assuming you survive past the 3rd turn and Duel links generally allows people to be more creative. Alas I think they're probably on this list because they don't have to be retrained.... the game has enough power creep as it is (coughLinkmonsterscough) and could use the pace being slowed down a bit to where battle effects actually matter again.

I know the D/D/D archetype already kind of goes into that direction, but I would love a "deal with the devil" based archetype based on Ha Des on something new. It could work by having cards with powerful effects, but great costs, which you can force onto your opponent, except for them the benefit might be questionable or even useless. (like for example a card which gives a powerful buff to link monsters, which is great for you, but your opponent might rely on Xyz). Or, what I think would be even cooler, you know how both players can use each other's field spell's effect, which rarely comes up? What if your entire deck has cards which your opponent is allowed to use as well, but if they do, it generates resources that benefit you and you have ways to greatly capitalize on these resources and ways to prevent your opponent from actually gaining advantage. Like, just an example, imagine you have a field spell which collects counters and uses them to protect itself (like in the Endymion archetype). Then you have another card which allows you, once per turn, to pay a bit of lifepoints to add a monster card from your GY to your hand, which is a powerful effect. Whenever this effect is used a counter is generated and added to your field spell. Your opponent can use this effect as well, but it also generates a counter for you. Then you have different cards with effects that scale off the number of counters you have, or remove them as a cost for powerful effects (like spell counters). Also you have ways to jinx your opponent's use of your cards. Like maybe a trap card that says "if your opponent adds a monster card from their GY to their hand, then monsters with that card's name cannot be summoned or special summoned and cannot activate their effects this turn." so you got to use that effect, you added a card from your GY to your hand, but the devilish twist is that it completely useless this turn.

A chess-themed archetype has literal novels worth of concepts it could draw from, but they decided to tie it to the archfiends and their long abandoned LP costs for some reason. Mechanically, they're closer to monopoly than chess.

That episode of the anime with Bonz using pumpking is still one of my favorite duels in the original season. Was so dissappointed that pumpking didnt have a similar effect to buff up zombies in the tcg. Would love a retrain of Pumpking to actually he a really good support piece for zombies.

An archetype that I personally like, and hope gets a retrain is the Iron Chain cards, an archetype that was introduced at the beginning of 5Ds, and was a victim of its time. Much like many cards that were introduced, it didn't really have a united theme besides the name. Some had burn effects, others could search, but it wasn't very good. If they retrained it, I could see it being tied to the chaining mechanic of Yugioh. The higher the chain the more powerful the effects you could use. An effect at chains 2, 3, and 4 with different effects. And the boss monster could change the entire order of the events in a chain so opponent cards could miss timing, and your cards could activate sooner. I know this is a very small possibility, but heres hoping.

At least one of the attack force Goblins are featured in Trap Hole, which has seen big useage with Traptrixs. so maybe play into the bad luck the goblins keep getting into via a retrain that makes them into hosts for the traptrix girls? would make for a very unique (and super spooky) combination; call the main card “Traptrix Host Attack Force”, and it’s just the goblins covered in vines and thorns and stuff, and the girls essentially puppeting them while feeding on them.

An idea for a Dark Scorpion Retrain could be a Battle Focused deck that pilfers cards from your opponent, like how Grave Robber works. Something like upon successfully dealing LP damage reveal the top/bottom card of your opponent's deck and either send it to the GY *_or_* use the card for yourself. If it's a monster you may summon it to your field in defense position, Use a spell effect, Set a Trap, ETC. There's a ton of old archetype ideas that could've been modernized easily with some good erratas and support that Konami just.....forgot about...which is the biggest shame. Stil upset they never bothered to finish the Neo Spacians and it would've been WAY easier for them to just make Ritual monsters go in the extra deck instead of requiring us to play Nekroz to get any use out of them.....

Pumpking is one of those cards that have zero excuse for not already having a retrain. Its current effect is so out of touch with its anime effect. The two cards aren't even from the same duel/duelist, they're unrelated. Plus the duelist (PaniK) that used Castle of Dark Illusions didn't even use zombies, he played fiends with the Castle creating a dark mist to hide their stats so if anything it should be one of those flip support cards that reset and shuffle your monsters.

A retrain of Raphael's Guardian monsters would be good. Give them all Eatos' summoning condition and merge the equip spell with the monster eg: Guardian Grarl - Gravity Axe 3000/1500 If you have no monsters in your GY, you can special summon this card from your Hand. Monsters your opponent control cannot change their battle position. Maybe throw in some additional effects for each monster, but you could make a really good archetype by retraining Raphael's guardian cards and include support that have benefits for keeping monsters out of the GY.

I remember Freezing Beast, Burning Beast and Protective Soul Alain being my first ever union monsters. I never understood Union monster as a kid. I only knew about them from the anime watching Kaiba and Chazz use the XYZ monsters. Nonetheless I really liked them and had hoped we’d see more from them

Honestly forget competitive cause frankly modern Yugioh is just power creep soup (literally most archetypes even modern ones are useless cause they "can't beat Tears") They need to just use thier ban list better and stop printing overpowered cards that literally do what a former banned card did but somehow far worse AND with tempo.... Fortunately Duel links knows how to put a lid on rediculous strats and let us actually have a chance of winning wtih some of our favorite archetypes, not just everyone use Tears or Sprights and prevent your opponent from playing the game and acting like that's peak yugioh....

I'd have liked a gimmicky variant of Swords of Revealing light that works like how Yugi somehow used it against Panik. where if you use the card, All monsters on your opponent's field except the monster with the highest attack has immunity to battle for 3 turns but on the endphase of the third turn, destroy all monsters on the field. Monsters can't be tributed or removed from the field while this card is in effect though. So you protect your opponent's monsters for 3 turns, only to raigeki them and force them to waste a spell destruction to free their monsters so they can tribute them or protect them from the Raigeki effect, but they can then be damaged. Something like that would be cool. Kind of like the "Attack the Moon" card which is also a card based on Yugi's antics. Heck it'd be really funny if for every time a character cheated in Duel Monsters, they printed a card that somehow lets you do that. Like "If you summon Great Moth or Perfectly Ultimate Great moth, spread poison on the opponent's monsters that cuts thier attack in half" and even one referencing the infamous Kaiba gambit....although frankly that card already exists...it's called Soul relay.

Machine king is awesome but a bit sad as well, as E.M.R is a super rad card for the gundam esc feel of the archetype, but it relies on 'original' attack, I think if there was a card that gave them their boosts as 'original attack' when they leave the field or while on it we could see some interesting plays with it, not meta, but still fun!

Back in the day I played a chess Archfiend deck a few times at my local store. It was awful but so were the decks I was playing against so I actually did pretty well. I have fond memories of that deck so I would love to see them get a retrain.

There was a series of Level 7 Reptiles with mediocre stats that, when destroyed by battle, would destroy all monsters on the field not of their attribute. I think they would be easy retrains.

So this is the reason I love finding yugioh videos like this. Because ever since I joined the yugioh Custom card community personally I find making personal or original custom cards consuming and draining. As rather than trying to make something for Meta I try to make cards fun and balance. But that is a little tricky with original cards. However, with Retrains, Remasters, and Additions it's another story. As at that point I'm simply improving on what's already there. And videos like there either give me a lot to work with or I've already made material for. For example, in the section that mentions Pumpking and Dark Castle. I separated the 2 into their own archetypes. Turning Dark Castle and the other Panik monster into Illusion monsters with a Flip related Battle mechanic. While Pumpking in a big zombie buffer with recursion and zone control. Also, while not focused on Machine King the union monster Heavy Mech Support platform was once shown equipping to Perfect Machine King. Which I expand it and Armor into an entire Heavy Mech archetype. With multiple varying Light and Dark mech machines which can contact off into Heavy Mech fusions. Lastly is there's the Dark Scorpions. Where I did a future retrain of them Dark Scorpions Bandits to the Dark Scorpions Organization led by an aged up and much more cruel Chick (Looking like he ate Kano from MK and Loki from Kenichi HSD). The play style being extreme battle focus with QP spells and traps that exploit sending as many Dark Scorpions to battle and then making the opponent suffer for even thinking of battle the DSs (Banishment, Soft Floodgating, Hand locks and other debilitating effects).

I would love to see a dedicated "Goblin" archetype focused on swarming, more cards like Goblin Attack Force and maybe some goblin-themed Equip Spells, Traps and maybe even some Xyx monsters themed around getting more ATK and effects with more Goblins attached to it as material.

Cyber Commander archetype could always have an option effect to special summon a cyber commander from deck to fuse, synchro, or xyz into different cyber squads. Even a field spell Cyber Command Base. Konami would censor it so bad😅😂

Goblin Attack Force can be remade in to an archetype for Rush Duels. Maybe with a comedic spin like Soljersey. For example, it's a deck for Goblin Sports fans, they have effect to increase their stats or other advantages, but they change their postions at the of the turn. And their traps play off that

With the Chess Archfiends and link monsters I think they can get fairly creative as there are 6 chess pieces and the link arrows so you could have link 1 monsters of each piece that need a specific Archfiend piece Or have one layer of link 1s that help summon out other archfiends to where is pointing and then have greater versions with "Greater" in their names (Archfiend rook, Greater archfiend rook) and them being link 4 Or different pieces at different link rates depending on the directions their piece moves like Link Pawn is a link 1 as it can only move forwards, link 4 rook with + arrows, link bishop with X arrows not sure how the others would work but is interesting.

In a way machineking support is already here. Clockwork Night, turns all monsters on the field to machines, and has an effect to search an earth machine monster. Clockwork Knight is pretty clearly a retrain of robotic knight with a few more cards, to flood the field with machines, they might have a coherent plan to rush out Perfect machine king
