The thing I love most about yugioh is that no matter the archetype covered in this series, there will always be someone in the comments defending it. In a world of Sky Strikers, Tenpai, Sprights, Vanquish Souls and any of the anime decks MULTIPLE PEOPLE play Appliancers and by god they will defend the archetype to their last. Its incredible that every archetype can get some love and I love seeing how people try to overcome the weaknesses of their pet decks.

Everyone can like a deck, but it doesn't mean it's good. It can have a nice story behind it, a nice art or an interesting mechanic. From experience the loudest players don't care about any of that, they want to win, and you can't win 90% of matches with your niche, forgotten deck. And that's entirely Konami's fault.

Fun fact: one of the duels in the Master Duel solo mode is a reinact of the Robbopi (the Appliancer user) vs. Blood Sheperd/Ghost Gal duel(Battledrone, Altergeist), but because Battledrone isnt available in real life yet they just replace it with Mecha Phantom Beast.

When I was like 8 years old my friend and I loved making our own Yu-Gi-Oh cards on notebook paper. I remember making an archtype called appliances with cards such as Fork, Spoon, Knife, Scissors etc. They may have been utensils actually but I remember calling them appliances. As an out of the game fan who loves your vids its really blowing my mind that these exist.

The best support I can think of for the archetype would be a few main deck monsters with similar function to Cornfield Coatl and Mirrorsword Knight for Chimera Fusion decks where the cards have an effect for enable the plays and boost consistency and then while in grave they supply interactions to disrupt the opponent's plays.

When robappi became sentient and started dueling humans with their appliancer deck, I was rooting so hard for them. It did well... In the very specific vrains environment lol

The main issue I have is that co-linking is important to the deck, but it's inherently designed that you can't expand beyond 3 links without harming your own appliancer set up. The obvious 'fix' is to give them a flood gate. While you have a co-linked monster, neither player can activate the effects of non-colinked monsters. Wrecks most decks, but since appliancer has a lot of options to move around their links, they can play around this by breaking co-links to play, then reconnecting them to lock up the opponent. The deck also just needs more spammable main deck monsters, and to go with that some link 2's that can help expand across the rest of the board, and at least a link 3. Higher link counts could be nice, but if you had that trap you'd not want link arrows pointing at your opponent. Konami could also get crazy and let you treat your spell and trap zone as link zones. Like imagine a link 3 with all upward facing arrows that can set itself as a continuous trap. While it's there it's link arrows are still active, letting you connect it to new downward pointing appliancer links, or ensuring any generic link you make with downward arrows can be colinked to remain active during that floodgate. That'd be wacky and weird, but it could be useful. Maybe even let it jump in and out of the spell trap zone as a QE like the argostar cards so you can have more offensive threat on your turn.

I remember a few years back I tried to mix appliances with lyriluscs, deck was a little janky but you would not run a single one of the links and used the free bodies to make recital starlings and spam a bunch of xyz on the board. Deck did actually pretty okay but once starling went to 1 it really fell off and I stopped playing the deck. Maybe now that starling is back and new Lyrilusc support is out it can be good again?

I remember I played Appliancers on Master Duel, can't remember where it was, whether an Event or Solo Gate, but I was intrigued by them, I could see potential, especially after having seen VRAINS, but it does occur to me that Breakerbunkle is a cheaper T.G. Metal Skeleton! He can be Special Summoned upon any Monster's Destruction, not jus T.G., plus he can be Banished from either Field or Graveyard to protect your T.G.! but, he's also Lv 2, so can be used in other ways as well! I've said it before, T.G. have some crazy Extra Deck versatility, but no one believes me! Like T.G., they were fun, they had somert different, there was somert there, you know what I mean? But, unlike T.G., they don't have insane combos, like, basically, a 1-card Baronne de Fleur, or even a now-illegal 1-card Delta Accel Synchro!

I love the Idea of a roomba appliancer with upward arrows that moves to a different monster zone and allows you to link summon to your opponent’s extra monster zone or use a monster there as link material.
