@@FriendlySwarmlord funny you say that. In the Re GX fanfic, Aster does indeed have DPE and he is uses it to beat Jaden on their duel. Jaden favors Sunrise, fueled by the manga Elemental HEROes. In fact, everyone gets modern cards in that fic, even including Syncros halfway through the first season (the fanfic is ongoing, so XYZs, Pendulums and Links canonically haven't been invented yet), mainly their Ice Barrier Syncros wich star in Alexis' Ice deck.

Which is why in my HERO deck, I use Extra Foolish Burial to send Dystopia to the GY. So when I need to go for game I just use DPE’s effect to summon Dystopia to inflict burn damage. Why complicate things when I can just inflict 1600 points of burn damage right?

Out of all the BAD yet iconic boss monsters, Gate Guardian could be one of the easiest to fix. I think it would benefit from at least one of the following: _A ritual retrain gaining extra protection for using overlevelled materials (Dubbed ''Gate Guardian of the Rift'' by me); _A fusion retrain needing 3 monsters of different types and attributes that gets better by using the OG materials(''Gate Guardian of the Fissure'') ; _An Xyz retrain being a pseudo-Rhongo but for level 7(''Gate Guardian of the eXtremity''); _A Labyrinth wall-inspired field spell helping to search the materials and/or protecting Gate Guardian (monsters), _Support based on its anime effects. What do you think about it ?

If we're talking bad boss monsters, Fushioh Richie is way harder to summon these days. Nearly every deck dumps out monsters with at least 2k attack on turn one so you'd need to use some jank equip spell strategy to beat over things. Even then, Dezard is gonna get owned by literally any monster removal before it can get its targeting protection, so getting him to stick around for at least 3 turns is the real challenge. Fushioh itself is funny though, it's one of those not flip monsters with a flip effect.

And I would say that Gate Guardian is worse than that Pharaoh thing since you need to have three high level monsters on the field and tribute summon the Gate Guardian.

How would one make the spirit of the pharaoh cards better with minimal effort? Well for starters if each sarcophagus could special summon a Zombie Token, and each sarcophagus couldn’t be destroyed unless the token was felt with first, that would be ok. The tokens would need to wipe themselves when the spirit of the pharaoh was summoned properly to make room for its main effect. The first sarcophagus could also let you special summon the spirit of the pharaoh from you GY as well, and/or all copies of it from one or both instead of just the one. And just for fun the spirit of the pharaoh could A: let you special summon level 2 and lower zombie monsters from your gy, hand AND/OR extra deck at one, and/or B: make it so that the mass summon is a hard OPT for each copy of it you control on the field. Maybe make it a quick effect too. And just for good measure, _While this card you control is face-up on the field, Zombie monsters you control can make additional attacks in a row per battle phase for every zombie monster you control on the field. If this card you control would be destroyed/banished by your opponent, you can declare the name of 1 zombie monster you control; that monster who’s name you declared is destroyed/banished instead._

I actually won against Swordsoul with Jackpot 7 just yesterday. And not a bricked player, they actually summoned Grandmaster, Baronne, *_AND_* Draco Berserker turn 1. There were like 18 different ways I would've lost but I had a New Vegas Luck stat of 10 for that duel for some reason and won.
