I suspect the Blue Eyes player probably knows how link monsters function, including they can't go into defense mode, but hadn't read his own card properly. Because I was also puzzled about why the Black Luster didn't lose its ATK value until I went and reread Chaos Dragon effect.

Yeh the "if you do" part of the B-E Chaos Dragon in the description is what may throw you of at 1st, tbh i also play from time to time that card but didn't remember it being a requirement to change their battle position in order to lower their stat values. But lets be real, why impcantation when you can use drytron, personally i have a blue eyes chaos deck and when i did that archetype change my deck was so much better, perhaps he uses that because all cards are N/R rarity and easy to craft.

shark fortress is a rank 5 xyz that can make a card attack twice (and also so that only shark fortress can be targeted for attacks) but i don't expect to be able to get that and bls out on the same turn

I run the BLS Link in my Lightsworn Shaddoll deck. It's always nice to make it with Construct, or aregular BLS or Levianeer that used up its effect and can't attack. The amount of opponents I've faced who forget about the Level 7 protection effect is insane.

Obviously a going second deck; packed with kaijus because they not only give you a chance to play but are also free level 7+ summons to put BLS out with when you’ve used the “if your opponent controls more monsters than you” clauses etc. Any 7+ on the board with 2 normals in hand can come out with link spider’s effect into BLS Plenty of backup strategies to fall back on if you get a hand full of normal monsters or have a normal and rescue rabbit in opening hand When the Dark Charmer Link monster comes into MD one of the light normal monsters will be replaced with “Mystery Shell Dragon” and the third I:P will become a Dharc for more possibilities

I like how the BLS archetype is so gimmicky but so powerful at the same time like BLSS ritual summoned with beginning knight and evening knight can just banish your opponents field

BLS can also utilize ritual Djinns pretty well too. This makes it pretty solid against synchro decks thanks to Cursechanter who synergies with Beginning knight exactly how Evening Knight does.

Why can’t I summon them in defense? Why am I only allowed to summon them here? Same for synchro summoning, I’m plat 2 and the only card I can reliably summon is stardust dragon.

oof i dont like link monsters because of how specific their summoning conditions are i mean the only link monsters i ever use are gaia saber the lightning shadow and black luster soldier soldier of chaos i tried using borrel cards but i cant seem to get that deck started before my opponent mops the floor with me i have resorted to effect damage wins and surprisingly thats working edit: i have made it to gold rank 3 with effect damage so far almost made it to gold rank 2 but got destroyed by 3 phoenix enforcers back to back

@@exzyyd392 Correct, Link monsters are, in fact, too strong. The main reason why cards such as Rhongo and DPE are so good is that they are relatively easy to summon, via the use of Link monsters. Even cards like Unicorn and Phoenix are incredibly strong, and those cards aren't even considered "overpowered" compared to cards like Needlefiber, Auroradon, Gumblar, Anaconda etc.

You don't have to use a lvl 7 to summon it though? Using a lvl 7 or higher just gives it additional protection. It requires 3 monsters with different names which is what he used.
