The reason why Andy Cato released so many tracks under different monikers on Skinny Malinky was to make it look like a proper label. I only put two and two together after I interviewed him recently, but 95% of the releases on the label are him. His tactic certainly worked.

Oh wow! And the memories come flooding back, when this was dropped back then the room just filled with love and empathy, the tune ran through your veins and youifelt on top of the world, hugging strangers that caught your eye, danced til we almost dropped

What a label. So many ace trance and prog trance anthems. I wish they’d had more signed up to the majors so that I could’ve bought CD Singles of them back in the day.

@Bjaminny11 жыл бұрын
Precisely. This is what happens when you put classically trained musicians who have a love for dance music together. What was even better was that Andy Cato from Groove Armada was part of this. Skinnymalinky is, for me, the best record label there ever was. Guerilla coming in 2nd :)

Progressive house when it was released, although progressive house sounds very different now as a genre
