I have to admit...in my 74 years on this planet, this is the First time I've ever heard of an artillery Sponge being referred to as a "mop."

Lol... the grumpy guy is a good team leader. Question: How does a person know how much gunpowder to place in the cannon ?
@nwashin12 жыл бұрын
Back in the 1600's they had plastic bags with the correct amount of powder...now adays they use silver foil packets instead of plastic...

I have two examples to offer: From C. S. Forester's HORNBLOWER books -- "Three pounds of powder would throw a shot (9-pounder) a mile-and-a-half, random shooting." and from C W artillery videos and articles, the combat load on a 12-pounder Napoleon was 2 1/2 pounds. {Combat loads, both of them} SO...anywhere between 1/4 and 1/3 of the weight of the shot being fired.

Oh shit, you don't say ! PLASTIC BAGS... LOL. I guess that back then they had heatseeking missiles too !!! The reason why people don't want to ask serious question on this hosting is that there are fools like you with smart ass replies. @@nwashin1

But you're not keeping palm below the worm. Should it go off your hand can get pulled along with it. 18th cent cannoneer here

Well it cant just float in and out the cannon by itself? Would you rather be pulled or have a dull rod blow your hand off should the cannon go off accidentally?

The way they're dressed and everything, it's like if someone went back in time to document a couple in 1600's Europe teaching you how they fire their personal gunpowder cannon. But there seems to be more to the guy behind the cannon too, the way he treats the woman in the red coat is strange. I hope she's alright.
