It depends, GemPages is more advanced and costs more, I recommend it for people that need control over everything. This is much easier to start.

How can we check if the themes are 2.0 or not. Some of them say in the description that its 2.0 or 2.x compatible so if it doesn’t say that, that means the theme is not support with 2.0?

Some themes don’t say it’s 2.0, but just to be sure I try to only use the ones that say it in the description.

I am using an Envato element theme and it has fake sales notification built in. Is it allowed by shopify to show fake popups of sales. Will i get banned for using this kind of theme?

You won’t get banned for that, but personally I never use those notifications as the popups are super annoying

@@TheEcomBull oh ok great. The pop ups are at the bottom left of the screen small notifications every 10-20 sec or whatever time i set. That wouldn’t bother the customers but it will help me as a new seller right?

Keep in mind that most of your traffic will view on mobile, and it takes a big part of the screen. I don’t use it, nor the “spin wheel” or any other intrusive popups. Even the welcome pop-up to collect the emails, I don’t show it until the visitor has been on the website for at least 60 seconds. UX plays a big role. So the theme i got from envato also has “4 sold in last 5 hours” showing on every separate products like when someone quick views or opens the product, it shows fake sold count. That would be okay right? Since its not covering any screen. It just shows at the bottom of every product. Would that be okay?
