One thing I learned quickly from dropshipping is budgeting every cent. You should know where every dollar is going. I was burning through ad spend like crazy and wasn't setting a strict budget. Also, find a side job if you are running low on capital.

Dont have high expectations..... expect a realistic amount that your trying to make and consistency is key and research
