Mary Jane Higby, the star of tonight's story, was heard on 36 episodes of CBS Radio Mystery Theater. Mary Jane also wrote 5 episodes: "River of Hades," "Death Pays No Dividend," "The Devil-God," "The Strange Voyage of the Lady Dee" and " A Point in Time." Mary Jane Higby died in 1986 at age 76.

05-20-24 Looking forward tonight, as always, to our bedtime story, from Southern Ontario, Canada, 43* N. Was very, very warm and humid again today, at 36*. We’ve also had a very heavy mist - unable to see the house across the road for three days now. Hardly any precipitation since all this heat, so a lot of hand-watering. I’ve never seen all my plants shoot up so fast at this time of year !! I’m racing trying to keep the weeding done. But doesn’t matter - it’s what I do in the garden that makes it my “happy place” - even the weeding ! New record of whole peanuts a chipmunk can stuff in his cheeks - saw one put 17 whole peanuts in at one go today ! Unbelievable ! Take care, everyone ! 🙏❤🫠
