1956 was a magical year for Elvis Presley. It started in January with his first appearances on the Dorsey brothers’ show. From then on it was a one way trip to superstardom, appearing on Ed Sullivan, performing 173 live concerts, and first time on the silver screen. It was also the year that he stopped at my uncle’s service station in Ohio and sang a few songs for the guys that worked there. I love that my family has some history relating to this period in Elvis’ career.

Elvis was a whole lot of a hunk of man if ever there was one. He had the girls in his audiences eating out of his hand from the beginning of his career. His rich voice was incomparable and there will never be anyone else like him,. no matter how many people try to imitate him. Back in the 60s, I was crazy about him, and none of my friends were. Their loss. I will always be an Elvis Presley lover.

My Father was 11 years old at this time and my Mom about 9 years old. Mom passed away this January 12th 2022 to cancer. My father and mother loved Elvis's music and played it just about every single day as far as I remember. I am turning 55 July. The memories will never fade. Now my Father is so looking forward to seeing the new Elvis film coming out. I will take him to the theater as soon as it's released. He is so saddened that Mom is not here to join him now on this. I even loved the movie cash. When Johnny cash and his first wife lived in Texas cropse crystal. His kids met a youngster name Andy and I had met Andy and we're good friends when I lived in Kentucky and I had met J.C kids there great people...

My favorite gifts at my birthday party the year I turned 9 were two 45 records, Love Me Tender and Hound Dog (flip sides, Any Way You Want Me and Don't Be Cruel!!) In our garage decorated with twisted crepe paper streamers I, along with 10 other little 9-year-old girls, swooned and screamed and be-bopped to Elvis, all of us madly in love with him. We danced our little hearts out.... and Elvis has never lost a very special place, a very tender place in mine. Although there were other little boys I had crushes on, Elvis was the first man I ever loved. ♥

All that hysteria... his Ego looks swollen to the point of losing touch with the real world. It is so meaningless all the idolization. He must have felt he was only that Elvis and had no idea who his non-on-stage persona was. Well... he had a terrible life.
