What most people don't know is that the Palestinian people were one of the most educated per capita in the world before this. Well, this explains why Israel has been uncharacteristically apologetic. Israel is recognizing that it would look better in the history books if it says “Most of the Palestinians died of starvation” than if it says “Most Palestinians died in bombing.” By letting them starve, they can accomplish their genocidal goals without needing to actually carry out the murders themselves. As much as we recognize that IDF forces are sadistic, bloodthirsty fanatics, you can only convince someone so many times to bomb a hospital. This is the same problem the Nazis encountered. They realized that they couldn’t accomplish their goals fast enough since fewer and fewer men were willing to get behind a machine gun and slaughter 50 people at a time, 10 times a day. The gas chambers were a “passive”, less explicit means of elimination. Furthermore, they simply left the cleanup job to the Jews themselves.
