Spent a lot of time researching and Cruzr is where I ended. Thanks for the reviews and making my decision feel justified..I have bought from both Cruzr and Tethrd, but pricewise, reviews and functionality is what drove me to Cruzr. Tried it on and ran through everything and waiting for warmer weather in Michigan to give it a go and learn how to use it effectively and safely.

I bought a crust two years ago. I love it and hunt out of it more than my other saddle. I also purchased the JX3 hybrid, and it's heavy and bulky, but the comfort is the best; it's on a different level of comfort, but it's also like toting a recliner in the woods. Lol. For a quick 3-hour hunt, Cruzr for a long hunt, JX3 hands down. Both are great.

Just listen to that thing jingle! Anytime a company makes a major flaw in something that should be so obvious, I just wonder about them and have a hard time purchasing their products. However, I didn't purchase their platform and like that but I went with the CRUZR saddle.

Hey guys, great content.The ONLY two things I liked about the phantom that I had was the raptor buckle( light and easy to adjust) and the utilibridge. I added those two things to my TL covert and find it to be the best saddle I've owned.

I have had experience with phantom, cruiser, & transformer and all 3 work, and feel great. Comfort is a tied between the Cruizer and transformer. Value is tied between transformer and phantom. All are great but I went with the cruizer.. I used a tree lounge back in the day, and there isn't a more comfortable stand. The tree lounge was light weight too. It ran about 400lb or so and not a ounce more.

I have the Lattitude Method metal free saddle. Awesome for walking in. And I prefer the rope belt over the metal buckles that don’t work. The leg straps do squeeze in the wrong place, and hanging your pouches can be funky. I like it better than the phantom though. Haven’t tried the Cruzr but I’m not going back to a metal belt buckle that slips again.

I hunted in the Trophyline Ambush Lite last season. The leg straps are not adjustable on my model which made it down right frustrating to walk in. I am not a tall guy and if the saddle shifts down while you are walking the leg straps would get caught over my knees making it hard to walk. I also added a bunch of padding to the mine because it hurt to wear it for a long time. I think the saddle in your review looks a little better with those leg adjustments. Wish I would have gotten that one. I agree the ropes and carabiners are nice and I do feel really secure while in the tree. Even with all the issues I still plan on using it to hunt next season because I am frugal and don't want to spend even more money for a different one. Thanks for the review.

A saddle looks like a very uncomfortable way to deer hunt....whats wrong with a good old climbing stand that is comfortable and easy to get up in? Saddle may be a little lighter to carry but I couldn't sacrifice comfort.
@BushRat2538 ай бұрын
I’m wondering the same thing. Saddles look brutal on your legs.
@nickricholetti7547 күн бұрын
Honestly your legs are more of a kickstand lol ur weight is more on the tether than ur legs from what i’ve experienced . A stand will always be the most comfortable . I’ve found myself taking less and less into the woods these days and a saddle works best for me . I’m not doing all day sits any more 4 hours here and there

I own a tethred, I don't like it. Leg straps suck. Not comfortable for all day sit. Bag is ok for me, two ropes and caribeaner fit fine. I built my first saddle from a sit and drag with a muddy harness. Was so much better. Might try cruzer next. But likely going back to sit and drag rig I made.

I’m stating to think Saddles and stands really are excessive. I got into stand and saddle hunting 3 years ago mostly due to all the KZbin videos and marketing out there and haven’t had any luck. I learned to hunt from the ground years ago and have killed lots of deer that way. Can hunt from the ground lighter quiter and have better shooting lanes. Only advantage to climbing is visibility. A lot think the scent dissipates when you get up but that’s not true. Your scent all the way to the tree base is there for at least 10 hrs. Maybe it’s just me but I really don’t enjoy carrying all that stuff and clinking up a tree. They say saddles are for mobile hunting but me personally I don’t like setting up and tearing down so I never move on to another spot if it doesn’t pan out I just pack up and go home. On the ground I can move in little by little slowly and quietly and really be mobile. I’m selling my latitude any takers?
@TheElementWild3 жыл бұрын
I can see you points, but that’s just not where we are. I’m very happy you’ve found success from the ground! I (K.C.) have hunted from the ground 8-10 times in the past 3 years; all without success. I find I, in fact, do have more shot windows from an elevated position. I also feel like I get busted way more often on the ground. Scent is nil because either way if you aren’t downwind of the deer, he’s got you. I do feel like your right about hanging and taking down. It is much noisier than just sitting down. However, if you’re committed to being mobile, the hang-n-hunt style becomes way less taxing as you improve on your system. Hope you have continued success! Maybe we’ll be able to get it done from the ground once this year like you!
@MexicanMovie3 жыл бұрын
@@TheElementWild not to mention if you hunt where thermals are a big deal you can have deer right under your stand and they don't even know you're there on mid mornings, same with cruising bucks. It's hard on the ground to be still enough that you don't get picked or just plain old avoided......

Has anyone using these things ever thought of just buying a high end arborist harness? Far more overbuilt, you can get them with seats, they generally have metal strapping backing them under all the fabric and padding so if you hit it with a chainsaw it doesn't fail and you fall. They seem like they could be every bit as comfortable, perhaps more so, safer, and the same price by the time you include all the accessories for these "hunting saddles." I thought of using one before I knew these hunting saddle things existed, seeing prices and materials here vs what you can get in arborist gear still makes me wonder if going the arborist way wouldn't be better...?
@TheElementWild3 жыл бұрын
Might be! I think that the consumer availability of these saddles and the pre-assembled ropes, bridges, and thethers are part of what appeals to people. Maybe you can make the arborist thing work though! Especially if you have experience with it.
@bigz52623 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing. Would an arborist setup be noisy though?
@TimPaddy3 жыл бұрын
I think weight would be one of the big differentiators.
@jandblawncare85702 жыл бұрын
Yes they are built heavier duty but guarantee my Petzel saddle weighs probably 20 times more than any one of these and as comfortable as my tree climbing saddle is, it's not made for actual sitting in for very long they're made more for moving in a tree. It's frustrating for me because I have probably 5k worth of climbing gear, ropes, asenders etc. that I can't use for any of this. One thing I am surprised with is the price of these hunting saddles for what they are. My Petzel saddle is roughly 600 bucks but built ten times heavier duty with top of the line materials, these things just seem to be webbing and mesh, probably 10 bucks worth of material and selling for 300-400 bucks and kits are upwards of 600 bucks, I bet you could go to Treestuff.com and only spend about 50 bucks for cordage and a couple quality beaniers!

I just got the latitude method. Haven’t hunted from it yet but messed with in in the yard a little. Now I can get my oldest boy and my wife out in a tree with me with my Millenium m7 hang on. Going to be fun. Question, getting a shot from my 1-6 seems really...hard. How do y’all do that?
@TheElementWild3 жыл бұрын
Nice! I don’t think every setup works for that shot, but you might practice kinda using your left foot on a corner of the platform and hanging the right. I had a shot at about the 4-5 o’clock area last SZN but was able to basically stand on my platform to shoot it. I just tightened up my tether and leaned out a little to get around limbs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWa0mmN6d7yCfpI
