Really not good for any short or long term use, it just hurts and can cause permanent damage with prolonged use. Also it doesn't sound nearly as nice as it could, and you can tell without the nerves she would sound even better and probably usually does.

She seemed extremely nervous when I saw her playing on Ellen. That's usually the problem with people are composers and also try to play and sing live. You can hear it in her voice. Practice makes perfect and the more you play the more relaxed you'll be playing in front of people.

It’d be a shame to. Beside that, her performance was nowhere near unpleasant. She was adorable and has a unique quality and tone.

OMG. How much that girl has grown as a musician and singer is astonishing. I've been following her playing for years and am amazed at boundaries she pushes in a great way. What a fantastic song. That bass player was groovin! One of my top favorite artists out there. Awesome job, Emily.
