"The dreams of the Yakuza don't mean a damn thing." This final battle is essentially a rehash of the final battle of Yakuza 5, but the emotional stakes are much higher. Aizawa was fighting for the glory, but Shishido is fighting to preserve the only way of life he knows before it gets taken out from under him. But the Omi Alliance has already been gutted and there's barely anything left to fight for, so he lashes out like a wounded animal backed into the corner. And from Kiryu's side, he's finally putting to rest the spectre of the Yakuza life that's dogged him for decades. The Yakuza have no place left in this world, but Shishido and his fellow Omi still fight to the very end anyway, and their anger is reflected in Deadly Struggle: this is Shishido's anger, but also the anger of the Yakuza that's endured for decades and doesn't want to go out quietly. And by the time of Fleeting Dream, you can see how it's all coming to an end finally: the sun is setting on the day, and on the Omi itself, even as Shishido is framed as the last gasp of the Omi Alliance, though even he might be realising that his dream will be crushed today. Yet he still fights to the bitter end, because what other life does he know?

8:27 Beautiful theme to send the Yakuza series off with. Instant favorite 🔥🔥🔥

Out of all the final bosses in Yakuza, I think Shishido is probably the most sad. It's a fight for nothing, the Omi alliance is already gone, Shishido is clinging onto a dream that no longer exists. This fight is just the nail in the coffin for Omi, which kinda shows when Kiryu tackled him through the giant Omi crest. Even if Shishido did kill Kiryu, he would still have nothing.

He is a pretty tragic character, he fought and worked his ass off to win his freedom and rise to the top of the largest family in the Omi alliance, all for it to come crashing down right at the end. He was too stubborn about letting it go and ended up right back where he started, captured and stuck with the same psychopath that tortured him from the start.

Well aside from nothing he would have the bragging rights to say he beat the Dragon of Dojima which....... also means nothing because the Dragon is presumed to be dead and he was fighting a ghost. Man poor Shishido just cannot win
The Violin Intro gives me goosebumps like Pledge of Demon and Two Dragons

Wish this game had a longer story, but after I beat it, the story is compact enough.

When that played for the second phase and Shishido cracks his neck, I felt massive amounts of adrenaline right there. Fuck that sync went too hard.

This really should've been Kiryu's final game, 8 feels forced imo Ichiban should've had the final battle just annoys me how 8's final boss plays Sawashiro's theme despite the fact it isn't him it feels like the ending changed due to the leaks.
@SleepyMook9 ай бұрын
Eh… I agree Kiryu is kinda forced into 8 but imo it makes sense he has the final battle due to how Ebina represents the sins of the Yakuza and Kiryu having to face those sins the Yakuza has caused throughout the entire series. Personally it’s a fitting final fight for him. IW’s ending is dogshit but honestly Ebina was a good final boss for Kiryu imo.

@@tenyearsinthejoint3443 I did, you said "just annoy me how 8's final boss plays Sawashiro's theme despite the fact it isn't him" Impersonation (bryce's theme) or The end of denial (Ebina's theme) sound nothing like brutality (Sawashiro's theme) and Brutality rebuild didn't even play at ebina or bryce's boss 😭
@tenyearsinthejoint34439 ай бұрын
@@skull3913 I'll make it easy (Brutality 0:23) (End of denial 3:28) I never said its the same exact theme i said it shares Jo Sawashiro's theme so it feels like a last ditch swap after the leaks.
