@michaelburke913718 сағат бұрын
@@petergray2712The stumpy is already in game, so rank 1 shouldn't be an issue.
@petergray271217 сағат бұрын
@michaelburke9137 The M7 Priest and the Wespe would have an approximate BR of 1.7 (hemming and hawing on the Wespe because its ammo isn't as good as the USA gun). This determination is based upon comparing the Nashorn (5.3) to the Tiger II (6.7), using the Sherman (105) (3.0) as a baseline. The sFH 33 (sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen 38t "Grille" came in two variants: the mid-engined Ausf.H and the front engine mounted engine Ausf.K. The latter has much improved armor protection and an engine for crew survivability, so BR will be 1.0 (Ausf.H) and 1.7 (Ausf.K) (tbh as an American main I've always been impressed with the short German 15 cm gun) The M37 is almost identical to the M44. The only difference is that it uses the M24 Chaffee chassis instead of the M41 Walker Bulldog. So it goes at the same BR as the M44. The Sexton and the Bishop are more problematic: the 25 pdr HE round had slightly more explosive filler than the HE round used by the 75 mm M3 gun on the Sherman. It had an APCBC round, but its penetration seems to have been slightly worse than the Shot Mk.IXB APCBC-T round of the 2 pdr (70 mm at 400 meters). A HEAT shell was under development in Canada, but it was canceled after the 17 pdr was adopted, and a HESH round was developed postwar. But the BR is probably 1.0 to 1.3, and I'm inclined towards the lower value. Other WW2 artillery vehicles: SU-14-2: 203 mm howitzer on a T-35 chassis. Open superstructure. M-51: 203 mm howitzer on a KV chassis. Open superstructure. Hueschrecke: Panzer IV chassis with a 10.5 cm leFH howitzer in a detachable turret. Grille 17: Stretched Tiger II chassis with a 17 cm (173 mm) gun in an open superstructure. Theoretically, it could also carry a 21 cm Morser 18, though calculations showed that the recoil from firing a single round would have broken the vehicle. SU-152G SU-152P M53/M55 SPH: Contemporaries of the M44 built on the Walker Bulldog chassis. The M53 was originally designed as the T87 tank destroyer, mounting the same ordinance as the T30 heavy tank. The US Army later modified into an SPG with the long 155 mm Long Tom. The M55 was almost identical except that it was armed with the M1 203 mm Howitzer. While suitable for WT, these vehicles suffered from very limited ammo capacity.

One more note to add: the M7 Priest, like the M44, can also be added to more than one tech tree. Specifically six trees: British, Chinese (Taiwan), French, Italian, Israeli, and the USA.

@@General_Rubenski The M7 Priest can be copy-pasted all over the place. It was used by the USA, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, and Israel, plus the Norwegian Priest could also be added to Sweden. In fact, I think it would end up as the single most copy-pasted vehicle in the game. (Because while every nation has at least one Sherman, they're not all the *same* Sherman like would probably be the case with the Priest.) So Gaijin will certainly add the Priest at some point. I'ts honestly shocking they haven't done so already, given how much they could copy-paste it.

I am glad that we get the M44 in game, but in the same time I would like to see for other nations (where it's possible) their own alternatives. The Hummel wouldn't have a .50 cal, but on the other hand it would have additional ammo options beyond donking with HE. It could fire HEAT, SAPHEBC, and even APCBC-DS (similar to the shell the Maus gets but with lower velocity and pen).

M40 LONG TOM IS A POSSIBLY YEAAAHH
@petergray271219 сағат бұрын
Impossible. The M40 has a rear outrigger that folds up behind the gun breech when the vehicle is moving, so it can not fire on the move. In gameplay, it would have to completely stop, extend its outrigger, wait for a shell to be loaded, and THEN fire. It would be a static TD, albeit with the AP round as the T30 heavy tank (each M40 was issued a small number of AP in case enemy armor threatened them).

@Ghent_Halcyon if that's not a problem, then we come to the next issue, the BR. It's almost as powerful as the M109A1. It's an open top with limited traverse, but it also has access to the M112 APCBC round, which is almost as lethal as the M112B1 APCBC round of the T30 (possessing the same amount of explosive filler). This vehicle will kill most heavy tanks up to 1000 meters. So 6.0 to 6.3 isn't out of the question. So, should the M109A1 be buffed if the M40 is added?

Would have loved to see the M7, the M37, the Sexton (maybe also the Yeramba), the Wespe, the Hummel, etc., but nope. Here's an otherwise nice vehicle that right off the bat is going to be fighting itself, itself and itself. Not to worry though, it'll have itself and itself for backup 🙄. Even if more unique vehicles get added, the damage is done, it'll still be here. I'm so unbelievably sick and tired of this stupid trend of adding a copy/paste to fill a gap...only to add a unique vehicle that does the same job a few years later, or just adding copy/paste for the sake of "Look, a """new""" vehicle!"

@penclaw There are still plenty of variants and unique vehicles to add that Gaijin does not need to be drip feeding us low tier players new vehicles in between the hordes of premiums and top tier stuff every update. Additionally, if this is Gaijin's idea of a Christmas present, I'd much rather have what they did years ago when they just have players a choice between one of three low tier premiums. Those are vehicles you can have fun with and use to start progress on a new tree, they're meaningful and greatly appreciated, as opposed to THIS. Merry Christmas, here's a Vietnam war American SPH that you can use along side your Hetzer and Panzer IV, or your Sherman Firefly, or your Chi-To... *or your Hungarian and Italian WWII SPGs.* I don't think they mean it as a Christmas present, they're just lazy
