It´s a slow (48kph), poorly armored at the br, unspectacular centurion copy, with simple heat and apds shells, at rank 6, for almost 4400 GE while on sale....thanks but I´ll pass. You can literally get the challenger 2 for 4800 in the same tech tree during a sale.

The Hudson is very fun to kill bombers and even occasional tanks with the solid rockets, its top turret also is 360* so you can spray bombers from below where most at that br can’t touch you lol

Ki-96 bad? Nah, it’s great interceptor and can outmaneuver some fighters. I have 169 kills and 69 deaths so 2.45 k/d and it’s definitely not a bad plane

The trophy/import premium planes had much more sense before mixed games and clones became widespread. German La-5FN, US Zero and Japanese Fw190 A5 all covered areas where the parent nation struggled against the competition in terms of playstyle and team composition. Nowadays it doesn't matter because minor nations are 67% clones.

For the He 219 A-7 ground pouding, I suggest switching to the 103 cannons only, unless going for soft targets. Otherwise, the tracers from the 20mm and the 108s just get in the way and they are useless otherwise.

A few things I've noticed about these vehicles: The USA Zero often shows up late to the fight, the F89D is truly unique, the Ki96 has incredible sustained energy that you will rarely enjoy on account of what a barn it is, and the Japanese Fw190 brings a delightful amount of firepower to Japan air.

Yeah I think all twin-engine fighters have excessively barn-like flight models. Especially ones known for their maneuverability like the Mosquito, Moskito, Ki-108, Ki-83, P-38s, Beaufighters, and Hornets.

the A6M2 sucks in air rb, but for me where it shines is GRB as anti cas most players at 3.7 grb are going to be bringing fat, slow strike aircraft with bombs, or fighters with bomb loads, they also likely arent going to be very proficient at dogfighting it's a great option for clearing the skies for your team with the 20mm tracer belts, amazing plane to pair with any of your CAS options, especially with the XA-38 Grizzly in my experience

Yeah but the Ki-108 is far better. The main cannon has the same fire rate of the MiG-15's N-37D cannon. As well as velocity matching that of the Ho-5s. At 4.0.

picked it up earlier today, i love it! it has just about everything id want in a twin engine fighter, especially the climb rate! its a shame its so under rated and slept on. the only thing i wish it had was bombs and or torpedoes, but i dont mind, i can just pair it with the B7A2 from the battles pass to cover that

Regarding the discussion of other options at 23:27 what is the difference between the J2M4 kai and the J2M5? As of today the ko and the kai are unavailable.

The J2M4 Kai is a heavier J2M2 with an engine meant for higher alts the game is never fought at. The tech tree J2M5 is marginally better but otherwise has the same problem. The premium J2M5 has two 30mm guns but otherwise has the same high-alt-only drawback of the tech-tree J2M5. All J2Ms are iffy to use after the J2M2, because of them having two different types of cannons with vastly different shells and velocities. The J2M3 is monstrously strong in flight performance despite the mismatched guns. However, the J2M3 and tech tree J2M5 should have modules called "J2M-a mod." which give both quad Type 99 Model IIs. The J2M3a and J2M5a were real planes - it would just be outright silly to make them separate planes just because of the outer wing guns being different.

He 219 is not entirely defenceless in a fight, because for some reason many players insist on charging it headon, not evading until they see tracers. Which is why you should use stealth belts. 6 guns, each with different trajectory, can cover a lot of space in front of you, and center mounting means no convergence issues at 1km+

imma be real, hearing you say the Ki-96 is bad was quite funny, very good joke! now, lets be real, the Ki-96 is broken op, great climb for its BR (and even a fair bit above its BR) with an air spawn, very nice turning ability & general handling, decent top speed, very lovely guns that are all nose mounted, and not half bad in a zoom climb, all while being very under BRed, to say this thing is bad is like saying the XP-50 is unplayable garbage. to those who are reading this, the Ki-96 is a great plane thats now ~7 USD worth of GE, and it is rank 3 which means its great for daily tasks and events. I heavily recommend it, it may aswell be a slightly-slower-but-better -turning & lower BR Japanese XP-50

The HE-219 A-7 is a fantastic aircraft, given you play with some friends who can run SPAA and provide fighter support? Having even just one of these in the air absolutely demolishes enemy bombers and soft to medium ground targets and its hilarious how people underestimate it especially on large open maps like any of the desert maps honestly.

I havent played the 20mm i16s in a while but I never remember feeling like I struggled to out turn anyone else. Unlike the spitfires or zeros you only need one good turn to get guns on target and youll delete your enemy, the armament is a lot more lethal than most imo

Grinded the F14 with the HE219, amazing how many people will try to head on it, 2-3 quick kills and back to another match, as long as you dont face wyverns or xp50s, which is always, you can cause quite the damage before people even realise they are being attacked

What do you mean the ki-96 is awful? It's engines are amazing. You get well above the 109s (and everyone, honestly) in the merge and can out energy basically everything you see. It also turns well. Roll rate isn't great and the guns can be a little tricky, but generally kill when they hit. It's flight performance as an energy fighter is nuts.

The proxy rockets on the F89 are so ass. Need to hit like 10 to kill a fighter. If you can hit with them then you can probably hit with a normal mighty mouse and kill with 1-2 hits. The proxys have so little explosive mass.

i think the HE 219 is quiet good in Ground RB. just dont take it out when the sky is full of fighters. It wrecks ground vehicles and can somewhat hold its own in the air. Be it by running form fighters or energy fighting attackers. If u (can) get your guns anywhere near a plane it disappears

Honestly who even used the US Zero often anyways? The flight model was neutered considerably over time and scores of nasty planes have been downtiered on top of the poor thing it has no hope to get gun solutions on unless the planes in question have idiot pilots. The German Wellington, I have it but frankly who in the hell ever uses it? Unless it gets the 4000lb cookie or German SC250 bombs in the future to make it interesting, it has no real purpose. Tech tree He-111s are straight-up better machines. Better defensive guns, better gun arcs, comparable speed, better payloads, etc.

The Ki-96 is actually kinda alright. It gets an airspawn and has a really good climb rate. It's very good at killing bombers at the start in air RB. The turn rate is also quite decent, but the roll rate is obviously bad, very floaty.

From my understanding the selling point of it, the proxy fuse rockets, are both ahistorical and also nerfed into the ground after massive amounts of complaining about the plane. I have no idea if they got rebuffed back up to any sort of usable status. If not, you're a dedicated attacker in a game which doesn't value you. In Air RB, attackers are shat on for 1) stealing bombing targets 2) abusing airspawns to kill fighters 3) ending games instead of "skillful" PvP and 4) in Combined modes rockets are much less practical or effective than bombs. Unless Air RB & Combined Ground get major overhauls to dethrone the toxic fighter mains and whiny tank fanatics who scream "CAS OP," the F-89D will not have a purpose much of anywhere. It's sad to see such a unique plane in this state. But at least the game has the pieces in place to corner and obliterate both obnoxious extremist player camps once sufficient developer will emerges to implement it.

From what I get out of this video, its a bit like this: No-brainers: Havoc/Vijayanta Decent picks: Attacker/Fw 190/He 219 (if you're a good pilot)/A6M2/F-89D (keep note you need to buy the F-89B first if you don't have it already, which costs just shy of 8k GE) Below average: Hudson/I-16 Avoid: Wellington/Ki-96
