@@pewdsisgod9777 It wouldn't surprise me if 05-2 is part of 001's containment procedure. However the majority of SCP-001's theorized aspects puts it on the level of just being "Fiction". Notice "It's alive, has an intimate understanding of human psychology, lives in a universe similar to ours and we don't know why it's messing with us". Every SCP-001 theory I've seen revolves around the concept of the fiction, or mythology, of one universe dumping horrors into another in some way. Since the one generating the fiction are humans, of course they generate fiction that centers on humanity. Even "A Good Boy" is a manner of fiction overriding the fiction of others, with hope instead of a horror. It kinda makes 001 equally interesting and boring to me. Several 001 documents retcon, alter, or heavily manipulate suggested themes of other documents in order to build their narratives rather than building upon the bones of the established items. Which to me is a little lazy in terms of writing, but some of the things they come up with are kinda neat... and you have to respect the sheer amount of writing put into each one.

Then read SCP 001 the architect also known as scp 184. The best way to write(hide) SCP 001 is to not number it SCP 001(184). By the way that story doesn't in anyway involve an unknown entity just a good old item you could hold in your hands.

It’s so chilling, the slow realization of this SCP. A couple hints for those who don’t know: The field protecting us from SCP 001 was eroded by humans being compelled to dig holes or otherwise expose the buried field. This was a intentional effort by SCP 001. The conversation with 400 year old man should be read backwards. After reading the interview, read each dialog from bottom to top. A different conversation takes place. For example, Earth will not be a barren place devoid of life and the Planet of Hands will be where you should go, the opposite is true.

I don't think it was 001 doing it, because 001 can't perceive humanity through the field, the field contained melted down human souls who wanted out. Also, the future envisioned by 400 was true for earth, it did get destroyed, the paradise it foretold though was, as o5-2 initially thought, reserved for a lucky few, just not for humanity of earth but the humanity of 001.

I wish Kalinin made a canon out of it sometimes. The last tale opens up some very interesting narrative opportunities, but no one writes in Kalinin's version of SCP like he does. Sometimes I ask myself, how humanity survifed the time before the Foundation

Some tales actually pointed out that the world police itself. 682 was contained by a powerful ancient civilization that now extinct for thousands of years before it got loose and captured by the foundation. The Romans took down a gigantic elephant robot created by Carthage and the foundation only contain the broken reactor that left inside said robot. Children of the night (or scp 1000) used to contain a lot of anomalies as well before humanity almost wipe them out. Even the occult wars happened often to reduce the number of problematic anomalies, and the 7th occult war happened alongside WW2.

Some versions of the canon point out that things started going really bad around the time the Foundation came around, for different reasons depending on the author. Sometimes, older civilizations fought to preserve humanity for some time, like Faizal F pointed out, with the Foundation sometimes being the unintended catalyst for anomalies multiplying around the world. I like how open that question can be, channel favorite Djkaktus has been exploring it a lot in his recent work. The history of an anomalous world before the Foundation can be as interesting as the foundation itself.

The Serpant's Hand and Church of the Broken God, mostly. The Hand contained magic threats (like the Daevites) and the CotBG contained biological threats (like the Sarkics). The Hand even calls the Foundation, GOC, CI and MC&D The Jailors, Bookburners, Madmen and Merchants specifically because there has *always* been Jailors, Bookburners and the like. The form they take changes, but according to them, somebody has always been Containing, Eliminating, Exploiting etc.

@@JohnsDough1918 Multiple 001s even show the Foundation has been making it *worse.* Sheaf of Papers, Spiral Path, Factory and Ourobouros show they've been the ones *making* the Anomalies, either accidentally or outright deliberately. The Foundation says the entire organization is *itself* an Anomaly the UIU is still trying to deal with, but has spiraled *way* out of their ability to handle. Consensus says the Foundation is responsible for basically deciding what even *is* Anomalous and "Normal" is just a thing they decided on and have forced on the world.

The moment you started reading the description of this SCP, my immediate reaction was 'oh wait, it's us'. We are alive, have an intimate understanding of human psychology, since we ourselves are humans, live in a universe similar to theirs, just without the anomalies, and are creating more anomalies in the scp universe, which, to us, is just a collection of stories, and most of the entries in the scp wiki are about anomalies that cause human suffering. The reason the number of anomalies spiked after the foundation was created was because the foundation was created with the wiki, and people then began creating their own scps.

i actually found proof on on the scp 001 guess ,The gatekeeper is t least is a real scp seen as 076 has a connection with it or at least knows of its existence and 073 also mentions it, which means that the gatekeeper 100% exists although it may not be 001

After listening to the post-containment-failure "updates" it sounds like the 001 doesn't really want to(for unspecified but easy enough to guess reasons, deductable to me as speaking of 001's own limitations or concerns...possibly very mortal* or otherwise vulnerable in their own way) deal with (other) cosmic/extra- extra-dimensional or *reality* threats, but will empower(as of yet not in an unlimited or unconnected fashion) and utilize anything else beneath that level (that I'm guessing it or they can safely maintain some semblance of a control over) as a weapon against organized* humanity...and even put a stop to other potential threats that can also present a potential solution or benefit to himnity if resolved...

This man also has a cult following of close to 1 million people around the world , these followers also have a vast knowledge of the foundation and many other organizations not to mention they contain a vast knowledge of people , places and events that are not of our reality ! This man and his followers call their organization the Exploring Series and the SCP Foundation has no way of containment as The Exploring Series is on a Pataphysical level above ours !
