Let’s be honest. Southend got lucky. Very dodgy penalty award and two deflections. Charlton’s first and last finishes were a cut above. Those were genuine glimpses of quality pulling the team through.

Hardly bottled it. We were the better side. That's just how football goes. We showed what this football club is all about. The atmosphere was electric, heart and grit from the players was unreal. Didn't hear a peep from the Charlton fans after our second goal. Every Southend fan is truly proud of this team tonight
