Here’s a recipe for a soothing Herbal Syrup made with mullein, elderberry, elderflower, marshmallow root, and licorice. This blend is excellent for respiratory and immune support.
Ingredients
16 oz (2 cups) water
1 tbsp dried mullein
2 tbsp dried elderberries
1 tbsp dried elderflower
1 tbsp dried marshmallow root
1 tsp dried licorice root (reduce to ½ tsp if sensitive to its strong flavor)
½ cup raw honey (adjust sweetness to taste)
Note* If you are really in need of mucilage, try Marshmallow root as a cold infusion! While the heat does break down the mucilage, it does still offer a good bit!
