That's a great fly It's so interesting to see you battling with recalcitrant materials, occasionally, in the same way as we mere mortals. I used to worry about deer hair stubs, but they do help to keep matters afloat.

Thank you John. Yes, I believe in keeping those little wrestling matches in the video, just for that reason!

That finished beautifully. Forgive me for saying, when I see wee tribulations happening to you (as one of the fly tying Gods) in the same way as they do to me - it gives me hope. I must bleach some of my moose mane. I hope it doesn't reduce the strength too much.
@Thefeatherbender2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. You can buy bleached moose mane from Natures Spirit.

Hello Mr.Clark, Saw your books and name mentioned the other day in a local Facebook fly fishing post and gave you kudos also told them we are trying our best to get you to come for a visit when you have time so we can throw a few up here. Just catching up and wishing you the very best New Year. By the way I really like that pattern and it's the next bunch I'm going to tie up for spring. Randy & Tracie Hill

I fish this pattern for the Western Green Drake hatch in Montana. After watching the video, think I will trim the hackle flush on a handful of these flies for slower water. Thanks for another great video.

Did you tried that with cdc at the front? That looks so great. Or you can fold the cdc with the front side pointing down and little hairs stand out to the front.
@Thefeatherbender2 жыл бұрын
CDC works great on these Niwel!

Is the wood duck vale over the tail susposed to simulate the shuck ? If so why not use antron as it would give a more realistic representation.
@Thefeatherbender2 жыл бұрын
Its the splitting shuck. You can use Antron if you wish, I'm a sucker for natural materials where I can use them.
