The peninsula was my playground when I was growing up. My parents and I used to spend 6 weeks at xmas schools hols at Rye and Rosebud on the foreshore camping. This brought back so many memories.

Haven’t been to Mornington Peninsula it’s so good that there is so much camping on the foreshore, usually the other way around. Doesn’t matter how often you clean you will always find the red dirt from the bush. Safe journey.

Caravaning at a remote spot 4 years ago. A mother with a 10 yo mentaly disabled child camped next to us. The boy kept coming over to our campsite and we found him looking into the van windows and trying the door. The next morning we hooked the van up to head-on with the trip. I did my final walkaround and jumped into the car to drive off when I remembered that I hadn’t locked the van door. I jumped out and was about to lock the door when I decided to double-check inside of the van. The boy was hiding under a blanket on the bed. I was so shocked and told him to “get the hell out” He was as cool as a cucumber and walked out. I realized later that my wife’s Ipad and some money were missing. It was a weird experience. I wonder what would have happened if we found him in the van hours later.
