Everyone's saying Chipfat's the reason it's so big, but I think the guys themselves are way more important. Editing can only get someone so far, if the group dynamic doesn't work then it's not gonna be entertaining. They don't need the editing for it to be entertaining. Their lobbies are so perfectly chaotic and unique at their core that they massively stand out amongst the crowd regardless. Just look at any of their among us stream vods and you'll see that crystal clear. The editing is a neat addition, but the series absolutely doesn't completely rely on it like I feel like some people are implying.

Chipfat (Sidemen editor) is a massive part of the success of Sidemen Among Us. It genuinely wouldn't be the same without him. Here's an example. In one of the Among Us videos back in 2022, Behz said that was quite lethargic because he had a gender reveal party the previous day. As soon as he said that, his facecam theme colour changed from blue to pink signifying that behz was expecting a girl. I'm sure 9 out of 10 people didn't even catch that but that kind of detail and effort is what gives these videos rewatch value. The sidemen must never let him go.

Definitely agree, I wasn't a keen viewer of Among Us in general and one of the reasons was that it's always one POV back then and you can't see or even hear others' POV too (Understandably, some of them is one person channel and not a group channel). When the MoreSidemen channel uploaded their first Among Us video, I felt like the editing was REVOLUTIONARY lol plus the humor too and became hooked to it. Sure a few years later, there are other editors have tried replicating the editing level (Like putting as many face cams in one screen during meeting, but it's not everyone's POV), but Chipfat has set a high bar in Among US videos.

The Among Us videos are 'easy watching' - so most of us watch it whilst eating dinner, or during lunch breaks, or whilst just relaxing. It takes a lot of us back to the days of just watching people like the Sidemen (or other content creators) play games with friends, or go troll in Online games like CoD. It's also why people like the Sidemen GTA videos. It's nostalgic and it's fun listening to friends have a laugh and banter with each other. It reminds me of when my friends and I would have a laugh in games too. That's why the Among Us videos works so well - it's getting to enjoy watching a group of friends rage at each other and have a laugh; it's not the game that's the enjoyable factor. Chipfat's editing is what brings it all together. If it was just one person's POV, it wouldn't be the same or as enjoyable. His editing and pulling all the POV's together is what makes it work - rather than us having to go to different channels to watch each person's POV if they uploaded it separately. Plus, the Among Us videos can be watched over and over again.

Its because the editor/s are skilled at that editing style that makes Among Us cinematic. Whereas with Lethal Company they flopped it because their editing style didn't compliment Lethal Company's immersiveness and there was no proximity. Its all about Chipfat's editing style. I'm the opposite but for a different reason. I can't get invested in playing the same maps, same location, the same story more than once. And a large part of competitive games is being repetitive. You fight against other players in the same maps, the encounters might feel different but the mechanics, story, and location is the same. So I get bored playing competitive games easily. Single player games are better for me as there is always a progression in location, story, and mechanics.
